Sr. Staff Machine Learning Engineer -Marketplace Growth

Marketplace Growth Engineering is a team responsible for developing scalable, high-performance AI/ML solutions to ensure 3rd party sellers success in Coupang. We do this by providing tools and services to help sellers be more successful. We build ML and DL models for enhancing the product listing. These intelligent, scalable and automatic solutions are backed by state-of-the-art AI and Machine Learning technologies with human level precision and recall performance. The team primarily work on three area. First closely work with search and ranking team to expose various features that helps with improving 3rd party seller position in the search. Second we build models to improve product listing experience by analyzing product images and customer review comments and enhancing the experience. Finally we provide tools to Vendors to identify how they can be more successful, and improve their item performance. The ideal candidate will have excellent engineering skills, business sense, and rich experience leading the build of extensible and scalable solutions to solve complex business features.

What You Will Do

• Serve as a technical lead on our most demanding, cross-functional projects

• Drive science excellence in applying LLM, and multi-modality models to solve complex business problems.

• Data analysis and building models to help sellers identify opportunities.

• Design applications and system for processing billions of items through machine learning models.

• Align with PO and business to understand the problem and come up with solution and align with stakeholders and lead scientists on mission critical projects to resolve complex business problems.

• Grow our analytics capabilities with faster, more reliable data pipelines, and better modern tools.

• Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions.

• Exert technical influence over multiple teams, increasing their productivity and effectiveness by sharing your deep knowledge and experience.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation.

The base pay for this position ranges from $159,000/year in our lowest geographic market to $324,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
