Engineering Manager

We are currently on the hunt for a seasoned Engineering Manager to join our Engineering Team. We are looking for an Engineering Manager who has worked in various types and sizes of SaaS organizations and who has developed high-performing engineering teams. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the growth of Copper. We are a fun, down-to-earth, rosy brand that likes to provide insightful, thought-provoking content to educate, inspire, and to help businesses build successful relationships with their customers.

What you’ll do:

• Manage a team of engineers and grow their capabilities
• Lead teams to deliver high quality software solutions to meet customer needs and business objectives
• Partner with technical leads to vet technical design choices, identify risks, and plan work
• Establish, maintain, and improve engineering standards and processes
• Drive clarity of communication throughout the organization
• Set and manage expectations with stakeholders
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership on roadmaps and delivery plans

What you’ll have:

• Minimum of 4 years of engineering management with prior history of being hands on as an individual contributor
• Experience working in a fast-paced SaaS business environment
• Adept at leading a team through scoping, estimation, and planning tasks
• Ability to identify the highest-value activities and focus your team on them
• Bias to action - a knack for sizing-up situations quickly and taking action
• Enough technical ability to question your teams architectural choices and suggest alternatives if necessary
• Experience working cross-functionally with Product and Design
• Comfortable partnering with Customer Success, Support, and Marketing teams
• Experience with web app frameworks (Ruby on Rails and/or various JavaScript frameworks experience a plus)
