Role Summary

We are hiring QA Analysts to support end-to-end testing of healthcare data pipeline projects. This is a hands-on technical QA role focused on validating data movement from inbound files through staging databases, Cloud Publish, Data Aggregation, outbound files, and Analytics Database loads.

This role is not UI testing. It is focused on SQL, file validation, data reconciliation, test data creation, and technical data quality validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review inbound layouts, outbound layouts, requirements, mappings, and data lineage.
  • Create technical QA test cases for file ingestion, database validation, transformations, reconciliation, and outbound file testing.
  • Design positive, negative, edge-case, duplicate, reload/resend, and regression test scenarios.
  • Create synthetic test data and inbound files for controlled QA validation.
  • Validate data across SPARQ, DI, Cloud Publish, Data Aggregation, mastering tables, outbound files, and Analytics DB.
  • Write and execute SQL queries to compare source files, staging tables, intermediate tables, outbound files, and expected results.
  • Identify missing records, duplicate records, transformation issues, null/default handling issues, and count mismatches.
  • Log clear defects in Jira and support triage with QA, BA, PM, development, and data teams.
  • Retest fixes and help identify reusable validation checks for post-production regression.
  • Support automation of data validation and reconciliation using AWS Glue, SQL, or similar tools.
  • Use AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude Code where appropriate to draft test cases, test data, SQL, or scripts, with QA review before use.

Required Skills

  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Experience testing ETL, data pipelines, databases, data warehouses, or data feeds.
  • Experience validating CSV, TXT, delimited, fixed-width, or extract files.
  • Ability to compare inbound files, database tables, outbound files, and expected results.
  • Experience creating test cases from requirements, layouts, mappings, or source-to-target documents.
  • Strong understanding of positive, negative, edge-case, regression, and end-to-end testing.
  • Experience with Jira or similar defect tracking tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with PMs, BAs, developers, QA, data analysts, and vendor-facing teams.
  • Clear written communication for documenting defects, test results, and risks.

Preferred Skills

  • Healthcare data testing experience.
  • Experience working with PHI, de-identified data, or healthcare compliance constraints.
  • AWS Glue, PySpark, SQL Developer, GitHub, or cloud data platform experience.
  • Experience with data lineage, source-to-target mapping, transformation validation, and reconciliation.
  • Experience testing de-duplication, matching logic, mastering, survivorship rules, or entity resolution.
  • Experience creating synthetic test data and reusable regression checks.

Success Criteria

A successful candidate can turn requirements and layouts into strong technical test cases, create controlled test data, validate data directly across multiple database stages, identify root causes of data issues, support end-to-end inbound-to-outbound testing, and produce clear QA evidence for technical validation signoff.
