Job Summary

Responsible for translating code into user-friendly applications. Collaborates with internal teams to develop functional mobile applications while working in a fast-paced environment. Develops application programming interfaces (APIs) to support mobile functionality while keeping up to date with terminology, concepts and best practices for coding mobile apps. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment. May lead teams or projects and shares expertise.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities:  

  • E2E wireless network performance measurement (KPIs for both Cellular and WiFi) using standard collection tools such as Netscout and Mobile device apps. 
  • Design network data collection solutions for performance monitoring and identification of connectivity experience issues  
  • Identification, collection and analysis of network performance data across Cellular and WiFi networks 
  • Experience in working with LTE, 5G NSA, SA and WiFi technologies 
  • Analyze performance data to identify the root cause for connectivity issues experienced by the mobile device users 
  • Analysis of Field test data for issues and performance metrics 
  • Lab reproduction of issues reported by subscribers for root cause analysis 
  • Troubleshoot and triage issues associated with device, network  
  • Support the test activities and provide trial and post-production support 
  • Identifying solutions to improve network connection experience on mobile devices 
  • Report generation and presentation to the stakeholders  
  • Communicate effectively and convincingly with all areas of the company – technical and non-technical - as well as with external parties 
  • Write technical specifications for assigned application components or major features/versions including functional specifications and design specifications.

  • Design new software, supports applications under development, design the prototype application and customizes current applications.

  • Build native mobile applications with an understanding of accessibility, localization, and offline needs.

  • Create, maintain, and implement the source code that makes up the application or program.

  • Develop and conduct routine maintenance on code to validate front-end, middleware, and database systems.

  • Communicate with others to repair broken automation scripts and ensure delivery of quality solutions.

  • Analyze, test, and assist with the integration of new applications, overseeing the documentation of all development activity.

  • Research and analyze technical references to obtain knowledge and gain exposure on the latest developments in technology.

  • Oversee the researching, writing, and editing of documentation and technical requirements, including evaluation plans, test results, technical documentation, and formal recommendations and reports.

  • Work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • 10+ years in Wireless Industry, including 2-3 years in end-to-end performance and user experience areas 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science or related field 
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, project management skills, communication (verbal and written) skills, and organizational/documentation skills 
  • Excellent collaboration and coordination skills to work with a matrixed team from various internal organizations 
  • Excellent presentation skills to technical and non-technical audiences 
  • Coaching of other team members 
  • Effective working knowledge of smartphone, operating systems (Android, iOS), and mobile wireless telecommunications ecosystem  
  • Experience in E2E performance evaluation and user experience for mobile device applications 
  • Working knowledge with Device Modems, Chipsets from Qualcomm and other major chipset vendors 
  • Experience in use of tools like XCAL, XCAP, QXDM and QCAT to trace and diagnose device logs  
  • Working knowledge of BSS provisioning flows 
  • Familiarity with SQL and big data analytics is a plus 
  • Experience in using Jira 
  • Working knowledge of network probes like NetScout 
  • Experience in working with crowd sourced data from mobile devices
