This role develops and operates scalable security data, analytics, and reporting capabilities that provide a centralized view of risk across FreeWheel and Comcast. This job ensures the integrity and protection of corporate information systems by identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities. It includes auditing, analyzing, and implementing security measures. The role collaborates with teams to fortify data systems and educates users on security protocols. The role requires independent problem-solving and strategic planning in information security.Job Description
Responsibilities
- Designing, building, and maintaining automated security data pipelines, ETL processes, data models, dashboards, and reporting solutions that consolidate information from multiple teams and data sources.
- Developing centralized security reporting across cloud security, application security, asset management, artificial intelligence, vulnerability management, compliance, and related security domains.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into new and existing systems
- Conducting risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommending mitigation strategies
- Developing and maintaining incident response protocols, including investigating and resolving security breaches
- Designing and implementing security controls to proactively detect and prevent unauthorized access
- Analyzing security hardware and software changes to assess impact and ensure compliance with industry practices
- Researching and implementing approved tactical and strategic information security plans
- Leading security awareness and training initiatives to promote a culture of security resilience
- Auditing data systems to ensure high visibility of information security precautions in system design
- Collaborating with Information Security leadership to address security gaps and weaknesses
- Adapting to variable schedules, including nights and weekends, as necessary for security operations
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience with business intelligence, security reporting, dashboards, ETL, data integration, and data pipeline technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Enterprise Security; experience with Splunk SmartStore is preferred in addition to other similar technologies.
- Knowledge of Scripting (python/bash/powershell/regex/spl/sql), api/json/xml, AWS basics - ec2,s3,lambda,sns,sqs - athena,glue,sagemaker is a plus, IaaC: CloudFormation/terraform or similar, github/ansible/vscode/jupiter or similar basics, experience with work with mcp/prompts/evals is a plus
- ISC2 CISSP/CCSP or similar security certifications is a plus

Salary:
Illinois Pay Range: $107,243.85 - $160,865.77
Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
