About the Team:
The Virtual Services Gateway (vSG) team at Comcast focuses on deploying next-generation network services close to the customer edge. We manage a high-performance, software-driven platform designed for low-latency traffic forwarding and agile service creation. Our team ensures seamless integration with existing network elements and maintains high reliability and efficiency.
What You’ll Do:
Build, run and manage production and non-production infrastructure and components for our systems
Participate in operational support for our systems by being on-call, responding to incidents and events.
Work with other engineers, leads, and managers to assist in the introduction of new products and features.
Assist with DevOps automation tasks and building/maintaining continuous integration (CI) and deployment (CD) pipelines.
Contribute to the design, development, and testing of infrastructure and network solutions and components.
Maintain regular attendance and be available for occasional nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills & Experience We’re Looking For:
Required Skills:
Programming/Scripting: Basic knowledge of Python or similar scripting languages.
Cloud Technologies: Some exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
DevOps and CI/CD: Introductory experience with DevOps tools and practices.
VNF Functions: Awareness of Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) and their role in network management.
Optional Skills:
Linux Operating System: Basic proficiency in managing and configuring Linux environments.
Networking: Understanding of network fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing protocols, and switching.
Automation Tools: Familiarity with Ansible and/or Terraform for infrastructure automation.
Experience Level:
2-3 years of relevant experience in Linux, networking, and automation tools, with optional exposure to programming, scripting, and cloud technologies.
