Job Summary

Design, development and evolution of our cross-platform video player solutions. This role focuses on building and maintaining highly scalable, high-performance video playback experiences across multiple platforms while ensuring consistency, reliability and feature parity throughout our product portfolio. You will work at the intersection of OTT technology, frontend engineering, media playback, advertising technology and user experience, helping to define how millions of users experience video content. Mentors junior staff, manages technical documentation, and uses performance metrics to improve software reliability Design and build a unified streaming player platform that provides: • Consistent playback experiences across all supported devices • Best-in-class performance and startup times • Scalable integration across multiple brands • Advertising and monetization capabilities • Modern accessibility and user experience standards • Support for future OTT and Connected TV technologies Streaming Player Development • Design, develop and maintain reusable streaming player frameworks • Build player capabilities that can be shared across multiple brands • Develop player architectures for Web, Connected TV and Operator platforms • Drive technical decisions around video playback technologies • Optimize video startup times and playback performance • Improve reliability, scalability and maintainability of player components

Job Description

What you’ll bring: Strong frontend engineering background and proven expertise in building video streaming and OTT applications. Skilled in HTML5 Video, Media Source Extensions (MSE), Encrypted Media Extensions (EME), and Video.js, with deep knowledge of streaming technologies, advertising platforms, video analytics, and modern engineering practices. Proficient in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, GitHub, GitLab, and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing new software applications, analyzing system requirements and customizing applications to maximize functionality and user experience
  • Assisting in the software update and release process, ensuring seamless roll-outs of new features
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to identify requirements and integrate tailored software solutions
  • Providing mentorship to junior engineers, nurturing a culture of technical excellence and collaborative knowledge sharing
  • Managing the documentation process for all development activities, ensuring clear and accessible information for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Tracking and evaluating software performance metrics, using data to inform decisions and enhance system reliability and user satisfaction
  • Partnering with Quality Assurance to confirm that software complies with technical specifications, ensuring the delivery of reliable applications
  • Leveraging market research and industry trends to drive project strategies and improve software products
  • Participating in or leading peer programming sessions, design sprints, or prototyping sessions
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
