Who you will be working with?
The Syndication Insights team works with our Business Strategy, Finance, Data eXperience, Engineering, Quality and Reliability teams focused on cutting edge Entertainment and Connectivity products within unique customer environments. Additionally, you’ll help leverage best practices across the Syndication Partners and Operator community.

What are some interesting things you will be doing?
In this role, the successful candidate will closely collaborate with Syndication partners, business owners, program management, product, and engineering teams in order to drive the design and development of Syndication Insights data analytics products and solutions to meet the analytics, reporting and machine learning needs of our internal stakeholders and external global partners.
This role serves as the team’s principal lead for Syndication Billing Data Validation Program, ensuring data used for partner billing is available, accurate, and timely.
- Data Integrity and Compliance: Guarantee the accuracy, availability, and timeliness of billing data while maintaining SOC compliance throughout the entire data pipeline (from source to KPI presentation).
- Partner Collaboration and Dispute Resolution: Work closely with Syndication partners to reconcile and resolve any billing discrepancies or disputes.
- Incident Management and Communication: Effectively identify, track, and communicate data incidents to relevant stakeholders and partners.
- Documentation and Audit Support: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all billing program activities, including validations, incidents, reconciliations, and change controls. Support annual SOC audits by providing necessary documentation and implementing audit recommendations.
- New Partner Onboarding and Product Launches: Deploy billing data pipelines for new partners and products/features/services.
- Contract Interpretation and Implementation: Translate contract requirements into code logic and methodology for accurate billing calculations.
- Stakeholder Reporting: Provide regular updates to stakeholders on data platform health, billing validations, and partner reconciliation efforts.
Core Responsibilities
- Create user stories to capture and communicate the needs and requirements of internal stakeholders and global operators.
- Track the delivery of sprint commitments to ensure that projects are completed on time and within scope.
- Use analytical rigor and statistical methods to analyze large amounts of data.
- Extract actionable insights using advanced statistical techniques, including data analysis, data mining, optimization tools, and machine learning techniques and statistics (e.g., predictive models, LTV, propensity models).
- Develop and execute statistical and mathematical solutions to business problems to support larger initiatives under the direction of senior team members.
- Produce analysis of historical patterns in customer behaviors and product performance from complex real-world behavioral data.
- Develop and deploy predictive models based on historical data that provide future predictions about customer behavior.
- Construct forecasts, recommendations, and strategic/tactical plans based on applying data science techniques to business data.
- Build customer-centric models and optimization tools to support large-scale projects that utilize online & offline data, structured & unstructured data, set-top box data, and media/behavioral/attitudinal data.

- Meet the analytics, reporting, and machine learning needs of internal stakeholders and external syndicate partners like Cox, Rogers, Shaw, Videotron, and future partners.
- Define and prioritize requirements and maintain the data product roadmap by working directly with data platform, engineering, and collaborator teams.
- Collaborate with program management, engineering, and operations teams on the QA and release of products.
- Report on progress and issues to senior leadership.
Skills/Tools
- Demonstrated experience using project management tools like Jira, Kanban, and SmartSheet
- 3+ years of experience with Quicksight, Tableau or similar Data visualization tools.
- 3+ years of Statistical analysis, machine learning, code fluency (SQL, Spark, Python)
- Familiarity with data integration and ETL processes
- Familiarity with data engineering environments (AWS, Databricks, and Apache Spark)
- Proficiency in at least one coding language (Python, Scala, SQL) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
- Experience using Spark and machine learning packages (Tensorflow, Keras, Pytorch) to build models
- Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques: GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, etc.
- Advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field
- 2+ years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models
Education
Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field
