At Columbia, we’re as passionate about the outdoors as you are. And while our gear is available worldwide, we’re proud to be based in the Pacific Northwest, where natural wonders are our playground.

Every product we make and every task we undertake is inspired by the famous words of our founder Gert Boyle: “It’s perfect. Now make it better.” As pioneers of relentless improvement, we are constantly evolving.

We believe the outdoors is ours to protect and strive to keep our planet healthy. We believe in empowering people to experience the outdoors to the fullest.

And we believe in you.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Cyber Defense Team protects Columbia Sportswear Company from evolving cybersecurity threats and works closely with technical and business teams to respond to incidents that could impact our associates, customers, operations, or brand. As our Incident Response Coordinator, you'll serve as the central point of coordination throughout the incident response process, helping ensure incidents are managed efficiently, stakeholders remain informed, and response activities stay aligned during high-pressure situations. You'll partner closely with cybersecurity professionals, technology leaders, legal, privacy, HR, and business stakeholders to drive communication, documentation, preparedness, and continuous improvement across our incident response program.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Coordinate cybersecurity incidents from intake through closure, ensuring response activities remain organized, timely, and aligned with established incident response procedures.
  • Serve as the central communication hub during active incidents, facilitating bridge calls, providing stakeholder updates, and maintaining visibility across technical and business teams.
  • Manage incident documentation, timelines, decisions, actions, and post-incident records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and audit readiness.
  • Partner with incident responders and technical teams to track response actions, support investigations, and drive accountability through incident resolution.
  • Facilitate lessons learned reviews and help drive continuous improvement of incident response processes, playbooks, procedures, and program documentation.
  • Organize and coordinate tabletop exercises and readiness activities that strengthen the organization’s ability to respond to cybersecurity events.
  • Track and report incident response metrics and trends, helping leadership evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Privacy, HR, Communications, and other key stakeholders to ensure incident response activities align with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

YOU ARE

  • A calm and composed professional who can maintain focus, organization, and clear communication during high-pressure situations.
  • An exceptional communicator who can translate technical issues into concise updates for business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a passion for documentation, process execution, and operational excellence.
  • A collaborative partner who builds strong relationships across technical and non-technical teams to drive results.
  • Someone who continuously looks for opportunities to strengthen processes, improve preparedness, and make programs better over time.

YOU HAVE

  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, IT operations, technology program coordination, incident management, or a related field.
  • Experience coordinating complex, cross-functional activities that require strong stakeholder management, communication, and accountability.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity incident response principles, processes, and industry best practices.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, or improving operational processes, documentation, procedures, or program artifacts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
