About Coinbase and the team
At Coinbase, we believe in creating an open financial system for the world. The Institutional Credit Risk Platform (CRP) team is an integral part of Coinbase's mission, working to ensure financial risks across our products are effectively managed and mitigated. Our team develops data solutions, workflow tools, and reporting systems that help the Risk organization monitor and manage financial exposure across various Coinbase products, including Financing, Exchanges, and Futures.
Role Overview:
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building frameworks and solutions that enable the measurement and management of financial risks. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop risk models, establish key risk metrics, and implement policies around counterparty and collateral management. Your work will ensure that Coinbase has the necessary tools to mitigate risks, maintain liquidity, and remain compliant with regulatory requirements.
What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties)
- Feature development using Go/Database/API/GRPC/
- Database development in Postgres, Clickhouse and other relational and non-relational databases
- Maintenance of existing database features by fixing issues or enhancements
What we look for in you (ie. job requirements)
- Proven expertise in backend development with a strong focus on Go or other high level languages like Java/Python.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases such as Postgres and Clickhouse.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to fix and enhance database features.
Nice to haves:
- Deep knowledge or experience in database technology.
- Familiarity or interest in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
- Experience with UI development and UX design.
