Engineer (Product/NPI/Reliability/Test & Development/Associate Engineer) – Penang

Location: Penang, Malaysia

 

Product Engineer

Role focus: Support product performance, quality, and manufacturability throughout the product lifecycle.

• Investigate product or process issues and coordinate corrective actions.
• Analyse production, yield, and quality data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Support engineering changes, product documentation, and customer or internal requirements.
• Work with Production, Quality, NPI, and other teams to resolve technical issues.
• Drive improvements in product quality, cost, and process efficiency.

 

NPI Engineer

Role focus: Coordinate the introduction of new products into manufacturing.

• Support new product builds, process readiness, and production transfer activities.
• Coordinate product and process requirements with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain.
• Prepare and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and build records.
• Identify risks during pilot builds and coordinate actions to resolve them.
• Support ramp-up activities and improve readiness for volume production.

 

Reliability Engineer

Role focus: Assess product reliability and help prevent failures during development and production.

• Plan and conduct reliability tests based on product and customer requirements.
• Analyse test results and investigate product failures.
• Prepare reliability reports and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
• Work with Design, Product, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to improve reliability.
• Maintain test records, equipment readiness, and relevant procedures.

 

Test & Development Engineer

Role focus: Develop and support test methods, equipment, and processes for product development and manufacturing.

• Develop, validate, and maintain product test methods and procedures.
• Support test equipment setup, troubleshooting, and improvement.
• Analyse test data and investigate failures or performance issues.
• Work with Engineering and Production teams to improve test coverage, accuracy, and cycle time.
• Maintain test documentation and support product development and production builds.

 

Associate Engineer

Role focus: Provide engineering support for production, process, or product activities under the guidance of experienced engineers.

• Assist with engineering trials, data collection, and technical investigations.
• Support process and product documentation updates.
• Help monitor production performance and follow up on assigned improvement actions.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams on routine issues.
• Follow established procedures and escalate technical concerns when required.

 

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering or a related technical field; requirements may vary by role.
• Relevant experience in manufacturing, product engineering, NPI, reliability, or testing is an advantage.
• Fresh graduates may be considered for suitable Associate Engineer or entry-level positions.
• Good analytical, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

• Ability to work with data, technical documents, and cross-functional teams.
