Key Responsibilities
● Hardware & Peripheral Testing: Design, execute, and maintain test scenarios for physical
hardware components, peripheral drivers, and low-level system services.
● System & Service Validation: Validate backend services, system daemons, and background
workers under various physical conditions (e.g., paper out, card reader timeouts, hardware
disconnects, power cycles).
● API & Service Automation: Build and expand test automation suites for backend APIs, hardware
abstraction layers, and IPC/socket channels using modern automation and mock tools.
● Defect Lifecycle Management: Identify, log, prioritize, and track hardware, driver, and service
defects with precise system logs, peripheral state data, and reproduction steps in Jira or Azure
DevOps.
● Compliance & Transaction Verification: Test transaction workflows to ensure strict adherence to
security protocols, data integrity, and industry standards (e.g., PCI compliance).
● Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with backend .NET engineers and technical
operations to debug edge-case hardware faults, refine acceptance criteria, and ensure reliable
releases.
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills
● Experience: 4+ years of professional quality assurance experience, with direct experience testing
software integrated with physical devices, hardware, or external peripherals.
● Hardware & Systems Testing: Strong expertise testing software that interfaces with physical
peripherals (e.g., credit card readers/POS terminals, receipt printers, scanners, or kiosk
components).
● API & Backend Testing: Solid proficiency in testing RESTful APIs, backend services, and
asynchronous processes using tools like Postman, Swagger, or custom CLI harnesses.
● Test Automation: Hands-on experience developing automated integration or API test suites using

● Exposure to mocking or simulating physical hardware interfaces for automated test runs.
● AI-Assisted Quality Engineering: Experience using AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor)
to generate edge-case test data, draft test scripts, and parse complex log output faster.
