Cochran’s Ozark, Missouri headquarters’ location, is looking for a Project Engineer with Water/Wastewater experience to join our team.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Project Engineer with experience in water and wastewater infrastructure projects to join our team. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in design and project coordination, holds an EIT certification, and is either actively pursuing or recently earned their Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and lead water/wastewater engineering projects from planning and design through construction
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, design plans, and specifications
- Assist in project management tasks, including budgeting, scheduling, and client coordination
- Conduct field investigations and site visits as needed
- Ensure projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff
- Review and respond to RFIs, submittals, and contractor inquiries during construction
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- EIT certification required
- PE license preferred, or actively pursuing PE licensure
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in water and wastewater design and construction
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or other relevant design software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Preferred Experience:
- Municipal or utility client experience
- Familiarity with permitting processes and regulatory agencies (e.g., EPA, DNR)
- Hydraulic modeling software (e.g., WaterCAD, SewerCAD)
