Description
Lead and mentor a global team of engineers to build the world’s most powerful AI driven offensive security platform. Reporting to the CTO, you will work closely with product management to execute the technology initiatives required to support the company’s rapid growth plans.
Job Duties
- Lead, hire, manage, mentor, and coach a team of global engineers as we build the leading scalable Offensive Security Platform
- Own the ongoing improvements of our existing offerings and the build out of new innovative products as we grow our portfolio
- Collaborate with the senior leadership team on cross functional initiatives
- Own the technical vision and architecture of our platform, ensuring that we are building for scale, stability, and resiliency
- Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation
- Create and implement standards around quality, efficiency and security
- Drive the adoption of best practices in engineering design, architecture, and development, ensuring all solutions are scalable, resilient, and high-performing
- Develop and own the strategy to continuously improve engineering quality and efficiency leveraging AI technologies, coding best practices, and agile methodologies
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 15 years of experience in software development, with 5 years of experience in building SaaS cybersecurity products.
- Strong multi-cloud engineering experience
- Experience establishing engineering standards and best practices for AI-assisted software development, including the effective use of tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI coding assistants.
- Demonstrated success driving adoption of AI-powered developer tooling and modern engineering practices to accelerate delivery while maintaining high standards for quality, security, and maintainability.
- Experience with Secure SDL best practices and building DevOps/DevSecOps teams
- Experience leading distributed international engineering teams
- Strong internal and external communication skills; experience working with a variety of business functions
- High emotional intelligence, adaptable, and comfortable with change
- Demonstrated ability to manage and scale engineering teams effectively, with a focus on technical excellence
- Tech Proficiency: Strong skills in our architecture: Ruby on Rails + JavaScript (React). Additional familiarity with other aspects of our tech stack is a plus: Node.js, cloud environments (GCP, Kubernetes)
- Proven ability to recruit, mentor, and retain great people

Pay Range Disclosure (For US openings only)
Cobalt is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is ($250,000 - $275,000) + bonus + equity + benefits. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications. The salary range may differ in other states and may be impacted by proximity to major metropolitan cities.
