The role

Clockwise is hiring a Senior Front End Engineer to join our product engineering team. We highly value well-rounded front end engineers who love digging into the particulars of a UI animation as much as they love diving deep on debugging performance issues. We're a humble, fast-moving, and fun team building a consumer-centric culture with empathy, authenticity, focus, drive, curiosity, and enthusiasm.

What you'll do

• Think critically about how to build a beautiful and elegant product experience
• Commit and push code every day
• Build performant, composable react components
• Architect front-end systems with cutting-edge tools
• Contribute to high-level strategic decisions
• Collaborate on design and UX with people who love product
• Directly influence our feature roadmap

About you

• Demonstrated leadership and ability to architect thoughtfully engineered systems
• Expertise working with a front-end application framework (we use react)
• Expert level knowledge of CSS and how to style components in a scalable fashion
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders and functions to ship great product
• A deep desire to learn and hone the craft of engineering
• Passionate about productivity tools and workflows

Work location

At Clockwise we have thoughtfully designed our rituals and day-to-day employee experience as a fully-distributed company. We offer both fully-distributed and flexible in-office options for new employees. 

Fully-Distributed: Clockwise has adopted remote-first patterns and technology for all employees in order to create an excellent employee experience. This extends not only to a stipend for your home office, but also through all our company rituals, including a commitment to get together, in person, on a quarterly cadence. Please note that we’re open to employees located anywhere in the domestic United States.

In-Office: For those who wish to have a physical office, we also offer a flexible option to work from our San Francisco private WeWork space, located near the Montgomery Street Muni & Bart station. We also make WeWork credits available to all employees to reserve ad-hoc desk space at the nearest WeWork location to them.

Pay Transparency

Clockwise employs pay transparency as one of several systems to ensure pay fairness and employee retention. Below is the approved base salary range for this position. It does not include total compensation factors like benefits, health insurance, and the value of Clockwise equity.

Salary range: $170,000 - $256,000

The final salary offered to a candidate may be higher or lower dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, market rate, the qualified pool of candidates, internal compensation, candidate experience, interview performance, references, and budgetary constraints.
