Senior Software Engineer - App Partner Integrations

We're looking for talented engineers to help us build Clever into something that every school, student, and teacher relies on.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the App Partner Integration team, you'll work on Clever's core platform, Secure Sync, connecting school districts with educational applications. Secure Sync enables automatic account creation for students, teachers, and staff, so they can start using their learning applications from day one. You’ll work with large volumes of data that are critical to the success of Clever and the future of education.

On the App Partner Integration team, we build tools that give school districts control over the data learning apps can access. We also create and maintain the APIs and schemas that learning applications rely on to grant students access. Your work will directly impact how schools and educators interact with the technology shaping students' learning experiences.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

• Collaborate with product management, design, and marketing teams to research, design, and code major new features and enhancements that will best engage, educate, and delight educators and application partners
• Develop and lead features that span intuitive UIs, scalable microservices, and REST APIs
• Be an important part of Clever’s ecosystem of engineering excellence as we strive to create both the best possible customer experiences and top quality internal architecture across all of our products and initiatives

• Own work across the stack - Clever has a microservice container-based architecture and is hosted entirely on AWS. We use Go for backend services, with Node, TypeScript, and React for frontend services and DynamoDB, Mongo, and S3 for databases and storage

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• 4+ years of experience as a full-stack Software Engineer
  • Experience with data processing or ETL pipelines
  • Experience with relational or non-relational databases at high scale
  • Experience with Javascript and web development
  • Experience with a major frontend framework like React is useful, but not required
  • Experience with GoLang and REST APIs is useful but not required
  • Experience with AWS infrastructure is useful but not required
• Led medium to large projects and collaborated with engineers and cross-team stakeholders to create meaningful impact
• Experience with design and architecture of end-to-end systems to solve a variety of product and data needs
• Ability to perform in-depth analysis on complex problems across the stack in order to find root cause and opportunities to improve performance
• The drive to learn and teach through collaboration and code reviews

SALARY TRANSPARENCY:

The range of our base salary cash compensation for this role for candidates living in the United States, besides NYC and San Francisco, CA, is between $160,000 - $190,000. For candidates living in NYC and San Francisco, CA is between $176,000 - $209,000. All final offers are determined using multiple factors including experience and level of expertise.
