Product Engineer (Mid-Level)

About the Role

This is a full-stack Product Engineer role at an early-stage AI recruiting startup, working directly alongside founders to build and ship the core product. You'll own features end-to-end — from scoping through production — and have a real hand in shaping technical direction as the team scales.

What You'll Do

• Own complete product features from requirements and design through deployment and iteration.

• Design APIs and data models, and implement both frontend and backend code.

• Build user-facing experiences that balance usability with performance, iterating based on feedback and metrics.

• Integrate LLM and AI capabilities into product flows to make intelligence reliable for end users.

• Design and implement scalable backend services, data schemas, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and testing.

• Collaborate directly with founders, product, and design to prioritize work and define success metrics.

• Contribute to architecture and roadmap discussions, making pragmatic tradeoffs suited to early-stage growth.

What We're Looking For

• 2–8 years of software engineering experience with a track record of shipping user-facing products.

• Strong full-stack skills: TypeScript and React/Next.js on the frontend; Python or Node.js on the backend.

• Solid experience with PostgreSQL and cloud platforms (AWS or GCP).

• Practical, production-grade experience integrating LLMs or AI services (engineering focus, not research).

• Proven product sense — able to translate user problems into measurable, practical solutions.

• Comfortable working in small teams with limited process, high ambiguity, and broad scope across frontend, backend, and DevOps.

• Experience implementing monitoring, observability, and automated testing as part of CI/CD pipelines (metrics, tracing, logging, health checks).

• Background with multi-tenant or enterprise-ready systems, API design, real-time systems, or high-throughput applications is a plus.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows and/or experience in regulated industries (healthcare, fintech, legal) is a bonus.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $150,000 – $300,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
