The Role:

You will understand, design, and implement: scalable, reliable, and efficient network solutions which leverage ultra low-latency technology that our market business and trading activities rely on.

The Team:

As a member of the Network Engineering team, you will work closely with other engineers, researchers, and traders across the firm.

Responsibilities:

• Design, Implement, Support, and Scale the existing, and expanding, global network infrastructure

• Manage network projects 

• Provide prompt resolution to escalated issues and outages, as well as preventative action for serious outages

• Provide technical consultation to other engineers, operations, and traders

• Provide data center support on an as-needed basis

• Participate in on-call rotation to ensure 24X7 availability of IT resources and escalation

• Analyze performance metrics and provide recommendations to optimize trade flows and minimize disruptions to the infrastructure

Requirements:

• Strong communication skills

• Organized and able to complete tasks or projects with limited guidance  

• Knowledge of security vulnerabilities and threat management

• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting Ultra-Low Latency networks

• Experience having built and optimized tools which enhance monitoring and automation throughout the environment

• Experience working with and optimizing Arista or Cisco network equipment

• Experience working with and optimizing Fortigate firewalls

• Working knowledge of Metamako switches (Arista 7130); ability to configure and troubleshoot MUXing on an L1 platform

• Experience having planned and documented disaster recovery and business continuity processes and procedures

• Ability to manage data center colocation infrastructure;  inclusive of best practice

• Familiarity with order entry and market data for major exchanges

• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, and/or ECX (Equinix Cloud Exchange)

• Capable of managing Extranet and Service Provider relationships and some billing components

• Audit and remediate information security concerns on network infrastructure

We Offer:  

The Base Salary Range for this role is $150,000 to $200,000. This range is representative of the starting base salaries for this role at Clear Street. Where a candidate falls in this range will be based on job related factors such as relevant experience, skills, and location. This range represents Base Salary only, which is just one element of Clear Street's total compensation. The range stated does not include other factors of total compensation such as bonuses or equity.
