Job Description
We are looking for a Technical Architect with 7+ years of experience who is passionate about software architecture, cloud-native application development, and modern engineering practices. The candidate should have strong hands-on expertise in Java, Angular, AWS, DevOps, observability, and database technologies, along with the ability to design scalable solutions, guide engineering teams, and solve complex technical problems. Exposure to AI technologies such as LLMs and MCP server setup will be valuable for this role.
About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of relevant software engineering experience with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, RESTful APIs, multi-threading, collections, and cloud-native application development.
Good understanding of software development principles, including object-oriented programming, Design Patterns, and SOLID principles.
Strong architectural understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, system integration patterns, scalability, performance, security, and production readiness.
Hands-on experience with relational databases including Oracle and PostgreSQL; ability to design schemas, optimize queries, and support data-intensive applications.
Strong AWS cloud-native experience with services such as EMR, ECS, EC2, S3, Route 53, and related networking, deployment, and operational practices.
Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions, Maven/Gradle, version control systems, and release management workflows.
Experience with observability, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support using tools such as DataDog.
Strong front-end development knowledge using Angular, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern UI development practices.
Knowledge of edge, CDN, and web security platforms such as Cloudflare and Amazon CloudFront.
Working knowledge of AI concepts including LLMs and MCP server setup is preferred.

What will you be doing in this role?
Design, architect, and deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable cloud-native applications using Java, Angular, AWS, and modern engineering practices.
Provide technical direction, review solution designs, and guide engineering teams on architecture, coding standards, performance, reliability, and operational excellence.
Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and DevOps practices to support reliable build, test, deployment, and release workflows.
Collaborate with product, engineering, QA, DevOps, and architecture stakeholders to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
Troubleshoot complex application, infrastructure, database, and production issues using monitoring and observability tools such as DataDog.
Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, including AI/LLM capabilities and MCP server setup, where they add value to product engineering and delivery.
Review code, architecture decisions, and technical documentation to ensure maintainability, quality, scalability, and alignment with engineering best practices.
About the Team
You will be working as part of Patent Intelligence team wherein your focus would be on providing Technical Architect solutions. We have multiple products which are integrated for better value creation to our customers.
Hours of Work
This is permanent position with Clarivate. You will be working in IST time zone. 9 hours of work per day including 1-hour lunch break. We have hybrid work model, flexible and employee friendly work environment.
