Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Director, Software Engineering to lead engineering strategy, execution, and operational excellence for our IP Annuities & Renewals technology portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to build high-performing engineering teams, deliver scalable and reliable platforms, and partner across Product, Architecture, Operations, Security, Data, and Business teams to align technology delivery with business priorities. 

About You - Experience, Education, Skills, and Accomplishments

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 15+ years of progressive software engineering experience in enterprise-scale environments.
• 5+ years of hands-on or leadership experience across cloud platforms, distributed systems, APIs, automation, and software operations.
• Experience leading an engineering organization globally.
• Accountability for delivering business outcomes and managing several business-critical enterprise software platforms or services supporting thousands of customers across US, Europe and Asia.
• Experience leading large-scale modernization programmes involving legacy-platform migration, cloud adoption, distributed systems, or architectural transformation.
• Experience managing annual engineering budgets and/or vendor portfolios.

 It Would Be Great If You Also Have...

• Experience driving technology transformation, modernization, and delivery improvement initiatives in enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, workflow orchestration, domain-driven design, event-driven architectures, and platform-based ecosystems.
• Exposure complex business or financial platforms, system integration, portfolio alignment, risk management, and long-term platform sustainability.

What Will You Be Doing in This Role?

• Define and execute the engineering strategy for a mission-critical technology portfolio.
• Lead the delivery of reliable, scalable, secure, and maintainable software platforms and services.
• Drive modernization, simplification, automation, and continuous improvement across engineering practices and technology capabilities.
• Build, coach, and develop high-performing engineering leaders and teams, with clear accountability and strong execution discipline.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, Operations, Security, Data, and Business stakeholders to prioritize investments and deliver measurable business value.
• Establish engineering standards for quality, reliability, security, observability, delivery predictability, and operational performance.
• Oversee workforce planning, budgets, vendor partnerships, and resource allocation in support of strategic priorities.

About the Team

The engineering team supports critical technology platforms and services that enable global operations and customer delivery. The team is focused on reliable execution, platform modernization, engineering excellence, and building scalable capabilities that support long-term business growth. You'll be leading a team of 75+ individual's geographically dispersed across the global.

Hours of Work

This is a full-time position working on a Hybrid working model in either our Belgrade, Serbia office or London, UK office.
