Lead Platform Infrastructure Engineer (Hybrid)

Job Description

The successful applicant will be part of an engineering team designing, building and implementing the infrastructure and tools for exciting new technologies that will shape the future of banking. We build product tools that enable control and testing of new hardware, tools for enhancing developer workflows, and automation pipelines for product development. You will be part of every stage of development from concept to deployment.

We are looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about joining Citi’s engineering team as a Senior Dev Ops Infra/Platform Engineer. The role is technical in nature and the successful candidate will be expected to learn various traditional and native cloud platform management.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage our infrastructure through code and automate whenever possible.  

• Translates loosely defined requirements into solutions.

• Collaborates with others on the project to brainstorm about the best way to tackle a complex technological infrastructure, security, or development problem.

• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and other teams across the company to understand and support business needs.

• Design and build reliable, performant, maintainable, secure infrastructure which can scale to the needs of our business while reducing costs.

• Manage our infrastructure through code and automate whenever possible.  

• Ensure reliable and ongoing measurement and monitoring of our infrastructure.

• Implement and manage the release processes for application related updates through development, test, and production environment

• Build and maintain the Software Engineering Release Calendar in collaboration with all teams and maintain a centralized view of all releases.

• Participate in and coordinate go live activities including the execution of deployment plans and checklists.

• Ensure that proper testing (Unit testing, QA and UAT) artifacts are documented before a change is deployed to production so that the change will stand the rigor of an audit

• Explore new tools and technologies and propose adoption plan.

• Maintain and enhance build/deployment pipelines for continuous integration and delivery of changes in order to improve the quality and availability of our systems.

• Ability to be on call 24/7, respond to alerts after hours, and perform deployments off hours for critical systems

• Good understanding of application infrastructure, system architecture, and operating system

Qualifications/Skills:

• Experience in a Senior or Lead Infrastructure/DevOps role  

• Experience in leading and evolving CI/CD processes leveraging the DevOps frameworks working in an Agile environment

• Experience in converting all build, test, and packaging workflows to scripts

• Experience successfully leading infrastructure engineering initiatives and architecture for multiple agile software product delivery  

• Excellent oral and written communication skills with a keen sense of customer service

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

• Process-oriented with great documentation skills

• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service

• Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies

• Infrastructure Architect Level Experience with implementing and maintaining high-scale cloud infrastructure as code.  

• Experience in managing & mentoring multi-geographically distributed team.

 Education, Experience:

• Bachelors in Computer Science, IT, IS, or equivalent area of technical study 

• Knowledge of traditional agile methodologies, including Scrum and/or Kanban

• Experience with Linux Admin, Oracle, MongoDB,Snowflake, AWS, Networking, AutoSys, Chef, TeamCity, Jenkins

• Experience administering and deploying development CI/CD tools such as Git, Jira, GitLab, or Jenkins

• Automation (Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Cloud Formation) 

• Secrets management: Vault, Cyberark

• Cloud-native development experience: Cloud Service Provider management and use (AWS, EKS, Azure, AKS, GCP, GKE) is a plus

• Experience implementing and maintaining automation/configuration management solutions (i.e. Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, SaltStack) used throughout business  

• Comfort and direct experience with monitoring, measurement, and dashboarding

• Application Monitoring Services: Grafana, NewRelic, Automation, DataDog 

• Log management: Kibana, Prometheus, Splunk

• Experience in automating practical solutions for SDLC and Release management through CI and related tools including but not limited to: Gitlab, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Maven, Nexus, Artifactory, Sonar, Jira, Confluence, etc.   

• Practical Experience managing Agile Release Management and maintaining a scalable SDLC
