FX eTrading - Senior UI Developer

Job Purpose:

Citi’s FX eTrading team is a high-intensity product development unit that defines, designs and develops critical front-office applications for the Global FX & Local Markets business.

The Developer/ Senior Developer will be part of the Development team that is responsible to deliver projects within the space of front-office Foreign Exchange (FX) applications User Experience and GUI design.

Job Background/context:

Global FX Technology is a dynamic and high-performing division of Citi’s Markets Technology. The FX eTrading Tech Unit (FXLM Tech BU)is based out of Chennai, Pune. This team manages mission-critical applications that drive deal booking, risk management, eCommerce and analytical applications across multiple Global FX. The team also provides production support for the various applications and the Platform Management that they run on. 

We work on business critical high availability application solutions for the FXL business that are deployed across 80+ countries and power our global FX business. Our applications are considered amongst the best-in-class within the industry, with our eCommerce and analytical products continuing to win industry awards year after year.

Our team in India is about 450 strong now. The senior members of the team are permanent staff and we make extensive use of contract staff in our delivery, including at PL level. As part of the expansion, the team is looking to hire top-performing Developers/ Senior Developers with proven track record, reporting to the Development Project Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership for delivering the development task assigned
• Ensure delivery within tight timelines and meeting the team’s expectation
• Get involved in the entire lifecycle of the development project
• Understand the requirement from business and technology stakeholders and ensure quality deliverables
• Ensure quality and optimized coding with proper documentation
• Do peer code reviews
• Develop testing plan and perform unit testing and provide continuously improved product experience
• Actively assist Support team wherever required
• Assist Project Manager in coordinating with business analysts & user communities to define requirements
• Participate in the technical design
• Actively assist Project Manager to deliver quality output
• Together with the team contribute to innovative & best-in-class solutions for our business

Knowledge/Experience:

• 6+ years hands on experience in pure technical roles in development of various software applications.

Technology:

• Hands-on with technology
• In-depth knowledge and application of Angular
• Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3
• UI Development experience with Bootstrap, Backbone, AngularJS
• Experience creating custom, general use modules and components which extend the elements and modules of core AngularJS
• Well versed with the use of XML, JSON and REST services
• Thorough knowledge of Java 8 concepts , collections, Multi-Threading, HTTP, JDBC
• Work experience in testing frameworks like Junit, TestNG
• Work experience on the transactional applications for low latency, high availability uses is a plus
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and agile development environment and to learn new frameworks/stacks
• Swings/.Net/C# knowledge is a plus
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases is a plus
• Knowledge of low latency messaging middleware such as Tibco EMS/RV, etc., is a plus

Domain:

• Knowledge of various treasury products, viz. FX, Money Markets, Fixed Income & Derivatives is a plus

Qualifications:

• Graduation/Post Graduation qualifications in Engineering stream with a very good academic record throughout from premier institutions
• A high degree of Analytical ability and Quantitative skills is desirable
