We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Database Security manager with at least 10 years of experience, including a minimum of 5 years of experience with securing databases including Couchbase. Expertise in database security controls, e.g. for auditing and vulnerability assessment is essential as well as substantial experience applying these controls to Couchbase and other database solutions.

This role also requires strong operational management skills, preferably with large, complex, business critical environments, as well as extensive experience with automating, monitoring and integrating to other infrastructure solutions. Experience with public cloud platforms and databases used on these environments is also crucial.

The candidate should possess a deep understanding of database security, operational management, the need for continuous improvements in processes to address operational issues, and the importance of insightful metrics to monitor issue fixes and proactively prevent future issues.

#### **Key Responsibilities:**

- **Database Security Compliance and Support:**

 - Applying security standards to Couchbase, Redis etc. so they are consistent with the strong controls in place for certified on-prem databases

- Ensuring database controls are consistently set and maintained at Citi for Couchbase, other caching solutions such as Redis as well as on-prem and cloud databases

- Continuously proactively monitoring for database security issues and then applying well-defined  processes to address them

- Conversant with all the Citi security processes such as CISS, GIAM, ADS, DPS, VTM, Cryptography standards and record management requirements and understand how these need to be applied to all databases used at Citi including Couchbase, Redis and other on-prem and cloud databases

- Experienced at dealing with both internal and external auditors, including presenting and answering all of their questions in an appropriate and professional manner

- **Database Changes:**

 - Should be experienced in the change processes adopted at Citi, understanding the different types of changes, approvals required and when changes can be implemented

- Dealing with all the different teams involved in change requests and handling any issues that may occur before, during or after the change

- **Database Automation:**

 - Improvement of the security automation currently used for Couchbase and Redis to make it consistent and at the level employed by on-prem databases

- In-depth knowledge and experience of all the different methods of automation used at Citi including Ansible, DMA and Autobahn

- A strong background and motivation to exploit the usage of automation wherever possible, understanding the efficiency and error reduction benefits it provides

- **Database Integration:**

 - Extensive knowledge of key infrastructure systems used at Citi such as DSP, GERS, WAIS, LMS, DRIFT, CyberArk, ISAW and JustfiyIT and how these need to be used with Couchbase, Redis and other databases

- Experience integrating with key infrastructure system at Citi and the challenges and personnel involved

- **Database ISRPs, Issues and CAPs:**

 - Ensure all database certifications go through the standard Citi ISRP process, working closely with the ISRP team, vendor, product engineering, embedded controls and ISO

- Experience creating CAPs or issues when required and the defining, management and closing of any milestones associated with them

- **Collaboration with vendors and internal Citi teams:**

- Must be able to establish strong productive relationships with database product vendors and other key internal teams such as product engineering, embedded controls and application support and development teams

- Provides effective technical support and guidance to any Citi teams requiring security assistance

- **People Management:**

 - Must be able to effectively manage multiple resources, both FTEs and contractor

- **Financial Management:**

 - Should be experienced in product licensing, how purchase requests are submitted, the budget process at Citi, and working with the business office and procurement teams

- **Documentation, Processes and Dashboards:**

- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for operational database security controls, including PCM and SOP type guidance

- Must be aware of and follow internal Citi processes, e.g. using the ETLC process to product change releases and engaging with the product management team for RFIs

  -Provides easy to access and understand dashboards wherever possible to enable clear visualizations of operational status and any remediations in progress

#### **Qualifications:**

- **Experience and Technical Skills:**

- 10 years of experience with database technologies (on-prem and cloud).

- Minimum of 5 years of experience with database security, including Couchbase.

- Proven experience with securing databases such as Couchbase and Redis in production environments.

- Partnering with many different teams at Citi, including risk, controls, application, development and engineering.

- Extensive experience using change and problem management systems such as Servicenow.

- Experience with using automation wherever possible and the solutions that support this..

- Experience with how to integrate solutions with existing core infrastructure solutions.

- Production of clear, effective documentation and usage of dashboards where possible.

- Understanding and able to follow complex internal processes and procedures.

- Comfortable collaborating with external auditors and internal audit and risk teams.

- Some experience managing FTE and/or contractor resources.

- Some financial experience with licensing, purchasing and the teams involved with this

- Experience with API management, including design, implementation, and monitoring.

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP etc.) and database management, auditing etc. in the cloud.

- Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Perl, bash, Ansible, Terraform).

- Experience using object storage solutions would be useful.

- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

- **Soft Skills:**

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong knowledge and ability to effectively use agile methodologies such as JIRA.

- An strong understanding of the necessity and benefits of clear up-to-date relevant documentation .

- Some team management experience.

- **Education:**

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
