Applications Development Technology Lead

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership through all phases of project life cycle including scope definition and gathering business requirements

• Utilize in-depth knowledge and skills across multiple Applications Development areas to provide technical oversight across systems and applications

• Responsible to architect, design and develop software for financial applications

• The job will require partnership with stakeholders globally to develop, implement and roll out technology solutions to address a wide array of complex business problems

• Ownership mindset with demonstrated partnership with functional counterparts to deliver on a material set of business objectives

• Experience with developing data ingestion frameworks, real-time processing solutions and data processing/transformation frameworks

• Position requires excellent communication skills to drive the change required and ability to translate the vision into technical artifacts

• Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects

• Identify and apply optimization techniques to enhance performance or improve on current application

• Leverage DevOps techniques and practices like Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment and Test Automation to enable the rapid delivery of working code

• Experience with migrating ETL processes (not limited to data move/archival) from relational warehouses/NoSQL databases to cloud based solutions is preferable

• Provides senior-level technical consulting and mentoring during design and development for highly complex and critical data projects

• Contribute to formulation of strategies for applications development and other functional areas

• Effectively collaborate with other members of the team, vendors and business stakeholders to align work efforts, develop and execute strategic and tactical plans that enable successful upgrade

• Knowledge of technology solutions in one or more of the following functional areas is preferable– Banking or Trading Book products

• Data modeling experience in a financial services environment, preferably Enterprise Datawarehouse Model based on IBM Banking Model

• Understand the underlying technologies and applications utilized with the specified area of responsibility and stay abreast of industry leading practices to direct how to design, develop, test and implement priority technology requirement

• Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions

• Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary

• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualification

• 6+ years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis role prefer in the Financial Service industry or relevant field)

• 5+ years experience on Ab Initio suite of products is must – GDE, BRE, CC, MHUB etc.,

• 5+ years experience in working on enterprise data warehouse systems

• 5+ years experience with building ETL data pipelines and integration with heterogenous data sources or real time applications

• 5+ years experience with building Data Warehouses on various DB platforms – includes RDBMS and NoSQL

• Experience with programming languages like Scala or Python to build enterprise applications is preferable

• Experience with migrating ETL processes from Ab Initio to Big Data stack is preferable

• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects

• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate

• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills

• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

• Master’s degree preferred
