Job Description

Meet the Team

Our team is a passionate group of professionals dedicated to accelerating innovation in high-speed optical transceiver testing. We thrive on collaboration across hardware, software, and product disciplines to ensure quality and efficiency in every phase of product ramp-up. Leveraging advanced automation and AI-driven tools, we continuously enhance test coverage and operational excellence. Together, we tackle challenges with resilience and creativity, driving improvements that directly contribute to faster time-to-market and customer satisfaction. Joining us means becoming part of a forward-thinking team that values technical expertise, problem-solving, and a commitment to delivering impactful results.

In this role, you will design, develop, and implement automated test solutions for the characterization and reliability screening of semiconductor laser dies, such as Distributed Feedback (DFB) lasers. Your primary focus will be on Light-Current-Voltage (LIV) characterization and Burn-In (BI) testing at the wafer level. You will collaborate closely with Optical Design, Reliability, and Manufacturing teams to ensure the production of high-yield, high-reliability laser components that support next-generation optical transceivers and silicon photonics products. This position plays a critical role in advancing the quality and performance of cutting-edge optical technologies through rigorous testing and cross-functional partnership.

Your Impact

  • Design, develop, and validate automated test systems (hardware and software) for laser die LIV characterization and Burn-In testing at wafer level.

  • Develop robust test software using languages such as Python, LabVIEW, C# to control optical and electrical instrumentation (SMUs, optical power meters, spectrometers, thermal controllers).

  • Design and optimize test fixtures, probe cards, and optical coupling interfaces for high-throughput, repeatable testing at wafer level.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science, Electric Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other relevant major.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in optoelectronic device testing, specifically with semiconductor lasers (DFB, EML, VCSEL, or Silicon Photonics).

  • Hands-on experience with optical and electrical test equipment: Source Measure Units (SMUs), Optical Spectrum Analyzers (OSAs), integrating spheres, photodetectors, and temperature controllers (TECs).

  • Strong understanding of semiconductor laser physics, optical waveguides, and reliability physics (e.g., degradation mechanisms, Arrhenius acceleration models).

  • Proven experience with LIV characterization and Burn-In (BI) system architectures.

  • Proficiency in automated test software development (specifically Python or LabVIEW).

  • Experience with wafer probers (semi-automatic or fully automatic) and optical alignment algorithms.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with database queries (SQL) and data visualization tools.

  • Familiarity with high-volume manufacturing (HVM) environments and test time optimization.

  • Knowledge of silicon photonics testing and grating coupler alignment techniques
