Product Owner, GCMB DB Digital Business - Digital Projects and Enablement MY

Location: Malaysia

1. Product Backlog Management

Manage and prioritize the product backlog to ensure development activities are aligned with business objectives and customer needs.
Create user stories, define acceptance criteria, and continuously refine requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

2. Requirement Gathering & Analysis

Work closely with business users and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document functional and operational requirements.
Translate business needs into clear and actionable requirements for technology delivery teams.

3. Stakeholder Coordination

Act as the key liaison between business, operations, compliance, PMO, and technology teams to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
Facilitate discussions, requirement workshops, governance meetings, and issue resolution sessions with cross-functional stakeholders.

4. Agile Delivery Support

Support agile delivery activities including sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and daily collaboration with development teams.
Provide clarification on business requirements and ensure timely decision-making during the development process.

5. Banking System Integration

Coordinate integration activities between banking platforms, APIs, payment systems, and third-party solutions.
Ensure smooth end-to-end process flow and data consistency across interconnected systems.

6. Regulatory & Compliance Alignment

Ensure technology solutions comply with banking regulations, internal governance policies, and security standards.
Collaborate with compliance, risk, audit, and governance teams to address regulatory and operational requirements.

7. User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Plan and coordinate UAT activities with business users to validate system functionality and business processes.
Track defects, manage issue resolution, and obtain business sign-off before production deployment.

8. Release & Production Support

Support release planning, deployment activities, and post-production monitoring to ensure smooth system implementation.
Work with technology and support teams to resolve production issues and minimize operational impact.

9. PMO & Governance Support

Support PMO activities including project status reporting, milestone tracking, risk and issue management, and governance documentation.
Prepare management updates, meeting materials, action logs, and project dashboards to support decision-making and project oversight.

10. Documentation & Reporting

Prepare and maintain product documentation, workflow diagrams, requirement specifications, governance papers, and status reports.
Provide regular updates to management and stakeholders on project progress, risks, dependencies, and key deliverables.

11. Continuous Improvement

Monitor product performance, operational feedback, and customer experience metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
Recommend enhancements and process optimization initiatives to support the bank’s digital transformation goals.

 

We are seeking a Product Owner to lead and manage digital commercial banking technology initiatives by collaborating with business stakeholders, operations teams, technology delivery teams, and project management functions. The Product Owner will be responsible for defining product requirements, managing the product backlog, supporting agile delivery, and ensuring solutions meet business, operational, regulatory, and governance requirements within the banking environment. The role will also support PMO-related activities including project reporting, governance coordination, risk tracking, and stakeholder communication.
