Senior Officer, Product Development

Role Purpose

The Senior Officer, Product Development supports the development, implementation and ongoing management of Cigna Healthcare's medical insurance products in Hong Kong, with an initial focus on the Group Health Benefits portfolio.

Working closely with local, regional and global stakeholders, this role helps identify product opportunities, coordinate product enhancements, support major product initiatives and provide product expertise to business partners. The role requires strong analytical skills, sound judgement and the ability to manage multiple priorities while balancing customer, commercial, operational and regulatory considerations.

Job Responsibilities

• Support the development, enhancement and implementation of medical insurance products and customer propositions aligned to business strategy and market needs.
• Conduct market research, competitive analysis and product assessments to identify opportunities and support product recommendations.
• Support end-to-end product development and revamp projects, including requirements gathering, feasibility assessments, implementation planning and post-launch activities.
• Coordinate cross-functional product initiatives and work closely with stakeholders across Distribution, Marketing, Pricing, Underwriting, Claims, Clinical, Operations, Technology, Legal and Compliance, and Programme Management.
• Provide product guidance and recommendations on new business, renewals, bespoke plan design requests, operational enquiries and product-related issues.
• Prepare and maintain product documentation including product specifications, approval papers, policy provisions, benefit schedules and customer-facing materials.
• Ensure product changes comply with internal governance requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
• Leverage approved AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance research, analysis, documentation, productivity and innovation while applying appropriate professional judgement and information security practices.
• Support other product-related initiatives and projects as required.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline
• Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience in product development, product management, employee benefits, health insurance or a related field. Candidates with less experience may be offered starting positions at lower ranking level.
• Knowledge of medical and health insurance products is preferred. Experience in employee benefits, international health insurance or the Hong Kong healthcare market would be an advantage.
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with experience evaluating business challenges and developing practical recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese, including the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, concise and impactful documents, presentations and stakeholder communications.
• Self-motivated, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality work within agreed timelines.
• Interest in leveraging technology, data and AI capabilities to drive innovation, efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
