Armed Security Officer- Durant HQ

Location: Durant, OK, United States

Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Armed Security Officer is responsible for the protection of all property of the Choctaw Nation, rendering lifesaving aid when needed, operating under high stress dynamic situations while maintaining the highest level of professionalism, and for ensuring policies and procedures are followed as applicable.

Location: Durant HQ

Pay: $16.85 per hour until completion and passing of MMPI and Security new hire training. Once passed, the pay rate will increase to $19.30 per hour

Schedule: Regular/Full-Time - 4pm-12am off Sunday and Monday

Wage access is an option for this position.

 

Primary Tasks:

1. Access, retrieve, and log computerized data.

2. Investigates unusual, suspicious, or potentially dangerous situations. 

3. Assists with all emergency situations such as active shooter, medical, fire, severe weather, etc.

4. Conduct regular patrols of both internal and external Choctaw Nation properties. 

5. Possesses a thorough knowledge of Choctaw Nation regulations and procedures, while maintaining security and procedures according to rules, as well as strict confidentiality.

6. Operate department vehicles in accordance with all state and local laws

7. As needed, operate emergency equipment and short-wave radios, and administer CPR and first aid.

8. Write incident reports regarding all security issues, accidents, theft, or vandalism and submit to the Security Supervisor.

9. Refers dangerous situations or complex problems to supervisor.

10. Other duties as assigned.

 

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• At least of 21 years of age. 
• Must receive “Capable” results from Department issued MMPI. 
• Must be physically and mentally fit and able to perform all of the essential functions of a Security Officer and pass a physical fitness test.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
• Able to qualify yearly with department firearms.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an armed security license in Oklahoma and Arkansas.
