Product Quality (PQE) & Failure Analysis Engineering (FAE) Team Lead


What You Will Be Doing

ChargePoint is looking for a Product Quality Engineer to ensure quality of our custom product shipping to end customer. This engineer will be

  • FOCUSING ON CUSTOMER ESCALATION QUALITY ISSUES closely working with Customer Service Support team, internal Failure Analysis Engineering (FAE) team. The job scope will include products manufactured and shipped by NA CMs and Southeast Asia (SEA) CMs.
  • In addition to this role, the candidate will be required acting as the Factory PQE for NA (NORTH AMERICA) FACTORY QUALITY ISSUES closely working with our NA contract manufacturers (CM) involved in Factory End-To-End Product Quality Control process and management system set up and development.

 

To be successful at ChargePoint this person must be highly motivated, self-directed, and comfortable working in a loosely structured and fast-paced environment.

 

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint 

PQE US (Field Quality and Factory Quality Engineer) Responsibilities:

  • As a Field Quality Engineer:
    • First Point-Of-Contact (POC) for Customer Quality Escalation
    • Attend/Lead weekly field product quality related issues review meetings providing required support to customer service support, system engineering and Failure Analysis Engineering (FAE) teams
    • Coordinate field failures analysis back to internal cross functional teams, including Supplier Quality, Factory Quality managing NA and SEA CMs, Ops Technical Program Management (TPM) and/or other Ops supporting team driving timely follow-up actions
    • Lead and present update to executive management for any field top product quality related incidents defined as the highest priority
    • Lead Quarterly DC/AC products Field Failure Rate analysis and summary report to review with Corporate Finance team for warranty reserve related tasks
  • As a Factory Quality Engineer in NA region
    • And acts as the First Point-Of-Contact (POC) for Factory quality related issues Escalation leads the Risk Assessment with Cross functional teams as the Core Team Leader
    • Lead the Crisis Management within CM related to factory/field customer escalation
    • Perform overall factory quality and process audits of new and current suppliers. Proactively lead and prevent poor Product Quality escaping to the customer hands
    • Manage and address factory quality issue escalation, Failure Analysis (FA), Root cause and Corrective Action (FA/RCCA) from First Article Inspection (FAI), Outgoing Quality Control (OQC), Yield Fallouts and Field Failures with technical expertise and problem-solving skill sets.
    • Lead CM (Contract Manufacturer) End-To-End Quality Control setup, from incoming quality control, FATP (Factory Assembly, Test and Packout) in-process quality control (mechanical & functional), Outgoing Quality Control (OQC), Out-Of-Box-Audit (OBA)
    • Lead cross-functional teams to develop, qualify and implement the measurement/ inspection/test system to ensure compliance to design cosmetic and functional specifications.
    • Work with CM and ChargePoint Mechanical, Electrical Design, Test engineer and Reliability Engineer on root cause analysis of factory and field failures resulting from any quality issues

 

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Customer Care and Field Quality Related Escalation Support, and/or Factory product quality development within mobile or consumer electronics or equivalent products.
  • Strong FA/RCCA, Failure Analysis, Root causing, and Corrective Action (CA) understanding and knowledge to lead by example
  • Fluent in English verbal communication and writing. Able to present to executive management in a larger audience meeting
  • Bachelor's degree (master's degree is a plus) in Industrial, Mechanical, Product, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong Technical Leadership drive proactive preventative actions functional failure and mechanical defect escape from factory into customer hands
  • Excellent teamworking with strong cross functional team collaboration and negotiation skills

 

Location

ChargePoint is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $60,000 to $120,315. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications and specific work location.
