Description

Change.org is searching for a Sr. Director, Product to help lead and create a more powerful Product organization, with a focus on strategy, process, and empowerment. You will report to our Chief Product Officer

As a key member of our Product team, you’ll oversee Product squads trying to increase the number of everyday people creating change in the world. The squads you oversee will do this by making it easier to create petitions (mostly local, but also national and global) and earning those petitions more media and influencer engagement (which increase their power and likelihood of success). Additionally, and very excitingly, you’ll build Change.org’s first-ever mobile app for local changemakers.

As a leader overseeing multiple Product Managers, you’ll also ensure that our people have amazing coaching, guidance, and mentorship, and you’ll help us shape practices and processes throughout the product organization as a whole.

We’re a social impact business (a public benefit company), and the world's largest social change platform with 100m monthly users, 50,000+ campaigns launched on the site every month, and a 100% user-generated revenue model. Our users win campaigns for change once every hour.

From mobilizing over 5 million people to investigate the fires in the Amazon, to mobilizing nearly 3 million against war and famine in Yemen, to large-scale mobilizations for the people of Iran and against the war in Ukraine, and calling for Racial Justice in the US, many movements were born on Change.org. Dozens of local, national, and international victories are happening every day thanks to the strength of our members who are changing the lives of people around the world. We want to help them go even further and we need your help!

Key Outcomes:

  • Increase the number of Change.org petitions (these are local, national, or global campaigns driven by passionate, everyday people)
  • Increase media & influencer engagement with our petitions
  • Ship a highly compelling mobile app, designed for those starting petitions (note that this is our first-ever mobile application!)
  • Steward empowering, consistent Product processes across the squads
  • Increase the eNPS scores of the people you manage

The most important core competencies for the role are:

  • Mastery of the product development process within an at-scale B2C product company
  • Strong user science and research experience skills
  • Strong people management expertise, with a focus on EQ, mentorship, guidance, and asking the right questions
  • Mastery of strategic planning and ROI thinking in a company with a product-led business model

  • 4+ years of experience managing product managers or product marketers
  • Proven results in scaling B2C products, growing the top of the consumer funnel, and making subsequent funnel steps more efficient
  • Dozens of product experiments launched and iterated upon. Ideal candidates will come with an experimentation playbook.
  • Substantive experience leverage user research and insights into new user value within the product experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling narratives and effectively present ideas
