Job Title: Senior Java Developer

Location: [TX-1604 Loop, San Antonio, TX, USA]

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer with over 10 years of core experience to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in Java technologies, a deep understanding of software design and development, and a proven ability to lead and deliver complex projects. As a Senior Java Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance applications while mentoring junior developers and collaborating with various teams to achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architecture and Design: Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable and high-performance Java applications, ensuring alignment with business requirements and technical specifications.
  • Development: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code. Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
  • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers, promoting knowledge sharing and professional growth within the team.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and deliverables. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Troubleshooting and Debugging: Identify and resolve complex technical issues and performance bottlenecks. Implement and maintain effective debugging and troubleshooting processes.
  • Testing: Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure the reliability and functionality of applications. Participate in the development of test plans and strategies.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design documents, user guides, and API documentation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Propose and implement improvements to enhance development processes and software quality.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including UI/UX designers, QA engineers, and DevOps engineers, to deliver cohesive and integrated solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in Java development, including significant experience with core Java, Spring Framework, and Java EE.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Java SE and Java EE technologies.
    • Extensive experience with Spring (Core, MVC, Boot) and Hibernate.
    • Strong knowledge of RESTful web services and API design.
    • Experience with front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, React) is desirable.
    • Expertise in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
    • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous.
    • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Proven leadership and mentoring abilities with a history of successfully leading development teams.
  • Additional Skills: Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience in working within Agile environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with microservices architecture and design patterns.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Experience with third-party libraries and frameworks (e.g., Apache Camel, Apache Kafka).
