Join the dynamic Energy Storage & Electronics team at CFD Research and play a pivotal role in designing and testing custom electronics systems for both commercial and Department of War (DoW) applications. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams, champions customer requirements, and drives projects forward through impactful research and development while providing technical leadership and guidance to the electrical engineering team.
Job Responsibilities/Opportunities:
- Design, develop, and characterize advanced electronic circuits and boards to meet product and project requirements.
- Participate in project planning, estimation, and resource coordination to meet schedule and technical objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage projects with internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to internal and customer status meetings.
- Present research findings, draft technical reports, and contribute to proposal development.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of electrical engineers, supporting design reviews, problem solving, and professional development.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience (5+ years of relevant experience) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and analysis.
- Strong proficiency in experimental methods, documentation practices, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in written, verbal, and visual communication.
- Proficiency in circuit modeling & simulation.
- Hands-on experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting electronic circuits including mixed-signal, signal conditioning, and power conversion designs.
- Must be a US Citizen and eligible to obtain/maintain a security clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (PhD or MS) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in proposal writing.
- Creating test methods and testing high-power devices.
- Experience with creating test methods, testing, and designing protection hardware for EMI/EMC requirements.
- Experience with performing signal integrity analysis for serial communication protocols.
- Experience with performing power integrity analysis.
