Job Overview:
We are looking for a Service Delivery Engineer to support the delivery of our software-based network solutions, with a focus on optical transport networks (DWDM/OTN).
This role is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the digital model of the optical network, ensuring data accuracy, capacity visibility, and reliable analysis to support network planning and operations.
The position works closely with infrastructure, backhaul, and transport engineering teams to enable an end-to-end view of network services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve the digital model of the optical transport network (DWDM/OTN)
- Ensure accuracy of physical and logical inventory (fiber, channels, network elements, services)
- Identify and resolve inconsistencies (drift) between design, inventory, and live network
- Analyze and manage optical capacity (spectrum, equipment utilization, resource availability)
- Support feasibility analysis and engineering of new services and network expansions
- Participate in network changes and cutovers, validating service impact and route protection
- Analyze network diversity and identify risks related to physical path overlap
- Generate reports and dashboards to support operational and planning decisions
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in optical or transport networks
- Understanding of DWDM / OTN concepts and optical network fundamentals
- Basic knowledge of multi-layer transport networks and telco facilities
- Experience with data analysis or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI or similar)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to data quality
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate clearly with technical teams
- English: ability to read and understand technical documentation
Nice to Have
- Experience with optical network planning or capacity management
- Familiarity with network inventory or digital twin systems
- Understanding of network resilience concepts (diversity, protection, SRLG)
- Exposure to telemetry or performance monitoring in optical networks
