Summary:

Under the direction of the Action Intelligence & Operations Manager, the Senior Data Analyst is responsible for database utilization and administration, data consolidation, data analysis and management reporting. Oversees the metrics and develops actionable recommendation for data consolidation and standardization requirements to execute. Collaborates with other teams such as Business Solutions Analysts, sales and IT to achieve business results.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for collaborating on the development, documentation of customized reports from the database

    • Understands tables in the Micro data warehouse and associated data marts to establish accurate retrieval of information for analytical use

    • Utilize available tools such as SQL, Business Objects, SAS and Microsoft Access to provide analytic reports for senior management as well as customers

    • Very strong communication skills to translate reporting in order to accurately meet the actual information and deadline needs of users

    • Educate requestors as to appropriate and desirable parameters to ensure they get the information they need

    • Sets the guidelines for the collaboration with end users to gather data consolidation and standardization requirements and ensure proper testing and validation

    • Driving force on data remediation, standardization and cleansing

    • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals along with setting teams priorities

    • Performs a variety of strategic and tactical tasks

    • Other duties as assigned

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Information Science or related discipline and/or 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area

    • Experience in full project life cycle data management and analytic development experience, preferably 2 years supervisory and/or cross-functional experience

    • Proven experience with report design, writing, technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data modeling

    • Extensive experience with core development tools Business Objects, Crystal , SQL, SQL Server Report Services

    • Considerable exposure to the operation and analysis of relational database software and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies

    • Specific knowledge of DB2, Oracle, MS SQL Server

    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; interacts with all levels of associates and management within the organization

    • Thorough knowledge and understanding of business principles, processes and technology

    • Excellent analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills to evaluate business problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions

    • Extensive knowledge of data processes and methodologies, data imports and export protocols (EDI, API)

    • Experienced with Pivot tables, Multi-Dimensional analysis and Cross Tabulations

    • Strong project management skills. Ability to be self-directed and accountable for reporting function

    • Ability to think outside the box to identify solutions

    • Ability to work across the organization in all business segments with the ability to address technical and non-technical issues

    • Sound understanding of data management principles including data architecture, strategy, preparation, quality and maintenance; solid understanding of the integration aspects of various modules of MS SQL Server

    • In depth knowledge of data and information governance methodologies and underlying MS SQL Server technologies are required skills in this role

    • Able to manage priorities and timelines

    • Excellent organizational and leadership skills

    • Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills

    • Strong presentation skills
