Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role working on large-scale projects. Expertise in Azure services such as Data Factory, Key Vaults, Databricks (Auto Loader, Unity Catalog, Workflows). Strong understanding of SQL. Proficiency in Spark fundamentals for efficient big data processing. Experience with Python or other programming language for scripting ETL processes and automating tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining data processing systems.
• Building scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory to extract, transform, and load structured as well as unstructured data.
• Implementing secure storage and access controls for sensitive data using Azure Key Vaults.
• Leveraging Azure Databricks for advanced analytics tasks including ETL jobs and machine learning workflows.
• Utilizing Spark fundamentals to optimize performance of big data processing tasks.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Ensuring data quality by implementing appropriate validation checks and error handling mechanisms.
• Working closely with DevOps teams to integrate data engineering processes into CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitoring the performance of data pipelines and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
• Documenting technical specifications, processes, and best practices.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Programming/Systems or Computer Science or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
• Five (5) to (10) ten years of experience in technologies relevant to data/information management, such as SQL, RDBMS, Data Lake/Hadoop, MDM, Metadata, Data Quality, etc.
• Has a broad level of understanding surrounding information systems and application architecture standards.
• Experience in leading small project teams and streams.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex problems or processes that span multiple business areas, identify and understand requirements, and develop alternate solutions.
• Experience designing, developing and testing applications using proven or emerging technologies in a variety of technologies and environments.

Preferred Certifications:

• Certification(s) in relevant technologies such as Azure or Databricks.
• Familiarity with other cloud platforms like AWS or GCP
• Experience working with other ETL tools like SSIS, Informatica or SAP BODS

WORK EXPERIENCE:
4+ years of directly-related or relevant experience, preferably in healthcare data analytics or data engineering.
