About the team and position
Carvana’s Infrastructure Development department is known for its team-oriented, fast-paced environment. We expect bright people, willing to roll up their sleeves, take on new assignments, mentor and train others, assume additional responsibilities as needed while juggling multiple projects. What you’ll be doing
- Lead variety of projects in size and scope including; Design, Entitlement, Permitting and Construction management. L
- Manage design team including architects, engineers and General Contractors in building project scope, budget and schedules.
- Responsibilities may include General Contractor bid process including analysis of bids, interviewing of key subcontractors and vendors and final recommendation on GC selection.
- Manage the budgeting process during design to set proper expectations for total project cost. Budgeting process to include forecasting of projected cost over life of the project.
- Proactively manage project scope, identify critical variables, and devise contingency plans.
- Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, clients, and stakeholders.
- Openly and confidently communicate with all other parties involved with the project, establishing trust and rapport with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Maintain project documentation related to change orders, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinate project close-out process; tracking and managing drawings, reports, and other documentation from outside vendors, contractors, architects, and engineers.
What you should have
- 5+ years of construction experience as project manager
- A Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Effective communication skills to motivate your team, delegate tasks, and present proposals to clients with competence and confidence.
- The fortitude to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy is crucial.
- Superior interpersonal skills, ability to interface with a variety of personalities with professionalism.
- Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service.
- Must thrive in a fast-paced environment, with an entrepreneurial approach to project management and a commitment to team support.
- Ability to help create, develop, and implement process improvement(s).
- Must be proficient in MS Office, Project, and Adobe.
- Must be willing to travel as necessary (up to 50% of the time).
