The Engineering Research Accelerator (ERA) bolsters the College's initiatives to enhance our presence and influence in both national and international research forums. This enables us to effectively share our insights and discoveries on emerging issues. These solutions have the potential to generate economic value through innovative products that are useful, usable, and desirable in the marketplace.
The Engineering Research Accelerator within the College of Engineering is in search of a highly motivated professional individual who enjoys taking initiative, excels at multi-tasking and is eager to join our team. The Project Coordinator is responsible for managing administrative and logistical support, as well as project-based work within a department, sponsored projects, and other related areas. This position regularly handles sensitive matters and requires maintaining strict confidentiality and discretion. This position will also require adaptability and openness to change as the department and organization evolve.
Core Responsibilities:
- Works on multiple projects with faculty and staff across the college with changing priorities, timelines, scope, and work activities. Project assignments are flexible and need based.
- Contribute to assigned projects teams, arrange, and attend essential project meetings, take meeting notes, work on artifacts and deliverables with relevant technical personnel. Projects might include but are not limited to data analysis and assistance with workshops.
- Maintain program websites and draft effective communications with project personnel, campus community, and external stakeholders including sponsors. Serves as the point of contact with sponsors when required of position.
- Facilitate project documentation in digital forms (e.g., spreadsheets, databases, and project management software and collaboration tools).
- Provide assistance to program activities and coordinates key meetings and events for the senior level staff.
- Program support may include supporting calls for projects by creating online submission forms, assist with coordinating web presence for specific programs, and point of contact for submissions, initial review and compilation for reviewers.
- This position will also coordinate meetings and events for these programs as well as meetings with high level visitors for the corporate/government team. This includes managing logistics such as securing space, arranging catering, facilitating visitor’s travel, and setting the agenda.
- Maintain a calendar system and track programmatic requirements such as required reports and meetings.
- Must effectively communicate these requirements to POC for each program, as well as have excellent follow up.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or advanced degree in STEM or social sciences preferred; High School Diploma or GED required.
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ project management and relevant work experience required.
- Basic understanding of academic research environment
- Basic data management skills (Excel formulas)
- Previous project coordination and management experience
- Experience with website design, HTML and CSS; comfort with technology and learning new software tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; interpersonal skills are essential.
- Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to meet sometimes inflexible timelines.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
