The Office of Human Resources (OHR) is searching for a Communications Project Manager who will manage communication projects, including technical writing assignments for the Office of Human Resources (OHR) and University Communications and Marketing (UCM). In this role, you will collaborate with subject matter experts across OHR to provide communications, technical writing and content support to the overall success of OHR business processes, critical initiatives and special projects. You will assist with writing content and producing supporting documentation to ensure processes and systems are appropriately documented in different formats including, but not limited to: emails and online articles, PowerPoint presentations, system notifications, training materials, system guides, guidance documents, policies, quick guides, internal standard operating procedures and videos. May have responsibility for university-wide communications.
Core responsibilities include:
- Assesses OHR and UCM communication needs and objectives. Works with senior management to develop and approve comprehensive communication plan.
- Determines needs, materials and implementation of communications including medium for delivery and technical resources. Acts as a project manager to oversee work and ensure objectives are met.
- Acts as a project manager to develop communication materials or implement communications plans. Establishes communication polices or procedures.
- Assesses efficiency of communications campaigns. Solicits feedback from collaborators and identifies areas for improvement. Incorporates improvements into future communications plans.
- Developing content including instructional and internal technical system guides prioritizing the end user experience.
- Working closely with HR technology teams to ensure system updates or implementations are thoroughly documented for end users; assists with the development of in-system notifications.
- Producing optimized content for multiple digital channels, diverse audiences and varied user types to clearly articulate complex concepts and translate them to easy-to-grasp documentation.
- Tracking and managing a communication or document life cycle from the first draft to final publications.
- Contributing content to The Piper newsletter, including staff spotlights and the annual write-up of Andy Award winners, and other projects in support of our partnership with UCM.

- Bachelors degree required; Maters degree preferred.
