About the Role

We are building a new B2C mobile application from the ground up and are looking for an Android Engineer to be a key player in building the app and its engineering foundation.

As the Android engineer on a new team, you will own the Android platform end-to-end and have significant influence over the application architecture, technology choices, development standards, quality strategy, and release processes. You will work closely with Product, Design, Backend, Embedded, QA, and DevOps teams, as well as the teams behind our other apps, to turn product ideas into a scalable, reliable, and high-quality mobile experience for a global user base.

Requirements

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional experience developing Android applications using Kotlin.
  • Proven experience building production-grade B2C mobile applications from scratch, including architecture and technology decisions, through launch and operation at scale.
  • Deep knowledge of the Android ecosystem and modern development best practices, including performance, memory management, stability, and mobile security.
  • Strong software architecture skills, with experience building modular, testable applications and reusable SDKs or libraries.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, API integration, asynchronous programming, local storage, and offline behavior.
  • Experience with automated testing (unit, integration, and UI), CI/CD, and release management in Google Play.
  • Strong ownership and collaboration skills, including taking part in architectural decisions, design, and code reviews.
  • Professional English proficiency, both written and verbal.

Advantage

  • Hands-on experience with Bluetooth Classic and BLE, including pairing, connection management, audio profiles (HFP, A2DP), and background operation (Android Bluetooth stack, foreground services).
  • Experience working with connected hardware and firmware teams, including device communication protocols and firmware updates over the air (OTA).
  • Experience with VoIP and real-time audio, including system call integration (ConnectionService / Telecom framework).
  • Experience developing AI-powered mobile features, such as conversational experiences, personalization, speech, or on-device intelligence, and integrating LLMs or machine-learning models into production apps.
  • Strong practical experience using AI-assisted development tools and workflows to improve engineering quality and productivity.
  • Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose and modern Android UI frameworks.
  • Experience designing public SDK APIs, maintaining backward compatibility, managing semantic versioning, and supporting external developers.
  • Experience with modularization, large codebases, white-label applications, or multi-application platforms.
  • Experience with analytics, crash reporting, feature flags, and A/B testing platforms.
  • Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform or with iOS development.
  • Experience working in a startup, scale-up, or other fast-moving product environment.
