Enterprise Data drives Capital One’s data strategy and creates products that support data producers and consumers across all corners of the company. Our Data Culture and Strategic Engagement team supports the Chief Data Officer’s (CDO) mission to build a world-class data organization. Our dedicated team works to build strategic programs and communications that foster collaboration across the company towards a long term data strategy and cultivate understanding of the importance of data and our data ecosystem in driving business processes and innovation.

 

About this role: 

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Manager to support efforts to engage key stakeholders across the company in our CDO’s long-term data strategy. In this role, you will help create and manage a central knowledge management system for Enterprise Data top-of-house functions, track tasks and inputs for upcoming CDO presentations at strategy and risk forums, and ensure team members across Enterprise Data are informed of and aligned with our communication and engagement plans. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated they can improve business and/or knowledge management practices in the past, resulting in time and resource savings for the company. You will also play a key role in organizing and executing semi-annual Divisional Data Officer (DDO) forums. The position involves managing multiple stakeholders — including the team lead, senior data leaders, communications partners, product leads, and more — to facilitate the delivery of impactful and engaging communications and experiences. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain a knowledge management system to organize versions of presentations, reports, and strategic communication materials

  • Extend the knowledge management system across Enterprise Data top-of-house functions and product teams, as applicable

  • Develop and maintain project management tracking tools to monitor tasks, deadlines, and inputs required for upcoming CDO presentations or deliverables

  • Create processes for version control to avoid redundancies and ensure consistency across communications

  • Provide transparency across Enterprise Data cross-functional leadership into upcoming presentations, topics, required inputs, deadlines, and follow on actions

  • Identify risks to deadlines and escalate concerns, as necessary

  • Ensure all CDO presentation materials are accessible, up-to-date, and meet established formatting standards

  • Own logistical planning for bi-annual DDO forum, including site reservations, setup, supplies, and catering

  • Provide support for post-event follow ups, including surveys and tracking action items

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines simultaneously

  • Attention to detail

  • Basic ability to generate graphs and charts in the Google product suite

  • Advanced slide formatting in the Google slides

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate and establish trust with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Comfortable interacting with senior executives

  • Problem solving mindset, with the ability to anticipate risks, propose solutions, and adapt plans as necessary

  • A passion for learning and personal growth

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or Military Experience or commensurate work experience

  • At least 1 year of experience in project, program, or communications

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in business, communications, or related field

  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification

  • 1+ year(s) of experience working in the Tech, Data, and/or Financial Services industries

  • Proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive

  • Experience in communications planning and development, including department communications, leadership team meetings, presentations, memos and reports

  • Experience with knowledge management systems or tools

  • Experience in stakeholder management

  • Experience managing events

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
