About the Role & Team
Capella Space is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer with extensive experience in designing, manufacturing, and testing PCBAs and harnessing. In this role, you will support PCBA and harness manufacturing at Capella Space. You will be collaborating cross functionally with the manufacturing, electrical engineering, and supply chain teams to design, source, build, and test PCBAs and harnessing.
Role Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and own process and documentation for PCBA and harness manufacturing, inspection, rework, staking, and conformal coating
- Own the investigation, resolution, and root cause/corrective action for all PCBA and harness manufacturing defects
- Create, define, and incorporate PCBA Design for Manufacturability (DFM) criteria into the engineering design process
- Review PCBA schematics, layouts, and part placements
- Coordinate DFM updates with Electrical Engineering
- Analyze EEE parts supply chain, coordinating required changes with Supply Chain, Electrical Engineering, and Program Management
- Coordinate with Supply Chain and Supplier Quality to develop and maintain robust supplier base for Class 3 PCB, PCBA, and harness manufacturers
- Work with Supply Chain and Production Managers to drive on-time delivery of externally sourced products
- Develop and lead improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Electrical and Harness manufacturing
- IPC 610 and 620 certified
- Hands on experience with soldering, wiring, and polymerics application
- Experience with Class 3 PCBA fabrication and assembly process
- Experience working with and managing contract manufacturers
- Experience with complex harness assembly
- Experience with Altium ECAD or similar
- Proficiency with interpreting PCBA schematics and drawings
- Proficiency with interpreting Harness wiring diagrams and drawings
Compensation
The annual salary range for this role as it is posted is $104,000 - $138,250. The final job level and annual salary will be determined based on the education, qualification, knowledge, skills, ability, and experience of the final candidate(s), specific office location and calibrated against relevant market data and internal team equity.
