For this team in particular, we are looking for someone Sydney or Melbourne based - with the option to WFH/remotely as well.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

As we scale to 1B users, our help and support experience needs to scale with it so we are empowering as many people as possible to find the answers they need quickly and without needing to contact a customer happiness agent. To achieve this, User Voice is investing heavily in our self-help touch points: from AI generated conversational experiences, to a more personalised Help Center, right through to contextual diagnostic tools.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Building efficient and reusable backend abstractions and systems
  • Working closely with stakeholders and content designers to create world-class content structure and management
  • Collaborating within and across teams to create wholistic solutions
  • Identifying and improving practices and methodologies for backend engineering
  • Finding opportunities for cross-team collaboration to work on new ideas and improvements
  • Empowering and mentoring other engineers

You're probably a match if

  • You are a strong proficiency in our core technology environment - Java, MySQL, ElasticSearch
  • You have the ability to write performant, efficient code, including appropriate testing
  • You enjoy working collaboratively with team members, communicating effectively, and taking ownership of projects and outcomes
  • You’ve perfected the balance between big-picture thinking and nailing the details.

About the team

The Help Content and Findability team is part of the User Voice supergroup, dedicated to empowering every user with the tools and support they need to create amazing designs.

Their goal is to empower every user to instantly solve their issue or answer their question as we scale our way to support 1 billion users. They deliver exceptional customer experience by providing quality localised help content, developing scalable systems, defining systems to support the management of help content, and working closely with the Content Operations teams.
