Frontend Engineer

We are growing our team at CalypsoAI and are looking for an ambitious and self-driven Frontend Engineer. As a Frontend Engineer, you will be responsible for building the user interfaces for our AI security web application, which makes your role critical for the success of our business.

Our technology stack currently includes Vue 3, TypeScript, Socket.IO, Pinia for state management, Histoire for components, Lerna for monorepo, and Vite for building.

At CalypsoAI we are strong believers in component based design, design systems and micro-frontend architecture. Besides building web apps, our team builds & maintains a component library, and a collection of in-house tools & libraries which aid in supercharging our day-to-day work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build - Utilise TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML to create user friendly, efficient and beautiful web applications
• Collaborate - Work in multidisciplinary team with other professionals such as backend engineers, data scientists, UX designers & product owners
• Architect - Create features and components with a focus on frontend architecture and design patterns
• Quality - Provide high-quality UI elements
• Performance - Optimize our web applications for minimum size & maximum performance
• User Oriented - Be empathetic & user focused, implement feedback from users and customers
• Improve - Make suggestions for better solutions to the problems we face
• Learn - Grown with the evolving nature of the web and its new features

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years experience as a Frontend Engineer/Frontend Developer
• Good understanding of frontend architecture and design patterns
• Strong understanding of JavaScript language & ecosystem
• Good knowledge of CSS and CSS preprocessors (Sass, Scss, Less)
• Working knowledge of modern JavaScript features (ES2015 - ES2025)
• Excellent knowledge of browser troubleshooting & debugging, browser feature compatibility
• Experience with any JavaScript view library like Vue, React, Svelte
• Knowledge of supporting JavaScript tools like Webpack, Vite, CSS Modules
• Love Javascript and the web!

Nice to have:

• Vue 3 experience
• TypeScript experience
• Knowledge of modern CSS features (grid, flexbox, variables, animations)
• Knowledge of npm or vite package manager & publishing packages
• Understanding of mobile-first design, atomic design and progressive enhancement
• Knowledge of new & emerging browser APIs
• Knowledge of design software such as Adobe XD, Figma or Sketch
