The Opportunity:
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Cyber Monitoring Manager to lead a team of Tier 1 Cyber Monitoring Analysts supporting the Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS) program located onsite at Langley AFB, VA. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, operational, and technical cybersecurity experience with the ability to manage a 24/7 team of cyber monitoring analysts responsible for detecting, triaging, and escalating cybersecurity events across multiple enterprise environments. The candidate should demonstrate experience leading geographically dispersed teams, developing analyst proficiency, implementing operational processes, and ensuring consistent execution of cyber monitoring operations. In addition, the candidate must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with military customers, incident response teams, threat hunters, and enterprise stakeholders to ensure timely detection, escalation, and reporting of cybersecurity events.

Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage a 24/7 Tier 1 Cyber Monitoring team responsible for continuous monitoring, initial analysis, documentation, and escalation of cybersecurity events supporting the AF DCGS weapon system.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop Tier 1 Cyber Monitoring Analysts while fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team environment.
• Coordinate daily operations between geographically separated monitoring teams to ensure standardized processes, consistent event handling, and seamless shift pass-downs.
• Ensure cyber events are properly triaged, documented, escalated, and tracked through established incident response and reporting procedures.
• Conduct recurring one-on-one meetings, performance discussions, and coaching sessions to support analyst development and operational readiness.
• Lead hiring efforts for Tier 1 analysts, including candidate evaluations, interviews, onboarding, and training coordination.
• Facilitate analyst training, knowledge management, and continuing education to ensure contract compliance and operational proficiency.
• Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), monitoring workflows, and operational documentation.
• Monitor team performance, identify process improvements, and communicate performance concerns and recommendations to subcontractor leadership as appropriate.
• Collaborate with Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, Engineering, and military stakeholders to improve detection capabilities and operational effectiveness.
• Stay current with emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices while recommending improvements to cyber monitoring operations.
• Prepare operational metrics, reports, and briefings for leadership regarding team performance, security events, and operational readiness.

Qualifications:

Required: 
• Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Degree may be substituted with relevant cybersecurity experience.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant cybersecurity experience
• DoD 8140 (8570) IAT Level II certification (Security+ or equivalent).
• Experience leading or supervising cybersecurity personnel within a Security Operations Center (SOC) or cyber monitoring environment.
• Knowledge of enterprise security technologies including SIEM platforms, endpoint security, vulnerability management, and log management solutions.
• Experience utilizing SIEM platforms to monitor, investigate, and escalate security events.
• Working knowledge of incident response processes and cybersecurity operations.
• Experience with Serena or similar incident/case management systems.
• Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with technical teams, leadership, and government

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$75,200-$158,100
