Plant & Equipment Operations Engineer – Construction Projects (Belgium + Abroad)

We are seeking a Construction Plant & Equipment Engineer to join a growing operations team managing a large and diverse fleet of construction equipment.
You will support national projects while also providing occasional support on project sites abroad. The role ensures safe, efficient, and sustainable use of capital machinery across all projects.
Your Contribution
- Plan and coordinate the mobilisation and demobilisation of heavy equipment across project sites.
- Provide technical and operational support to site teams and methods engineers for equipment-related challenges.
- Track and manage the equipment fleet: perform technical follow-up, administrative monitoring, and lifecycle management.
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance strategies, ensuring high availability and reliability of machines.
- Coordinate inspections, repairs, and servicing with internal teams, subcontractors, and external vendors.
- Conduct occasional visits to project sites abroad to assess equipment conditions and support operations.
- Liaise with planning, procurement, and project management functions to align equipment needs with project timelines.
- Report on equipment utilisation, costs, downtime, and performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives: propose upgrades, optimisations, and cost-saving measures.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all equipment activities.
Your Profile
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 3–8 years of experience in plant & equipment engineering, fleet operations, or equipment maintenance within construction / civil works.
- Strong technical understanding of heavy construction machinery, engines, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
- Experience in preventive maintenance planning, asset lifecycle management, and repair coordination.
- Excellent organisational and project coordination skills.
- Strong communication skills — able to work with operational teams, external vendors, and project stakeholders.
- Flexible and willing to make occasional visits to international project sites.
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a continuous improvement attitude.
