Job Summary: 

As a Software Engineering Manager, you are trusted with the design and development of distributed web applications that delight our clients and scale out to millions of users. Your responsibilities include leading a high performing team to take products and features from inception through agile development and into our clients’ and their employees’ hands. 

Essential Duties: 

  • Foster innovation through forward thinking enhancement design and analysis
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to team members
  • Collaborate and communicate with business stake holders to create high-level design concepts
  • Deliver code based on sprint commitments
  • Actively participate in refinement discussions, coding, testing, and documentation
  • Develop core web application changes using Java, ReactJS, AWS and relational databases
  • Maintain backlog of potential technical innovations and tech debt, ensuring forward-thinking prioritization and perpetual health of the codebase
  • Unwavering commitment to demonstrable quality via demos, test automation and telemetry
  • Communicate design strategy that will achieve business goals of the user story while ensuring technical integrity
  • Understand and communicate long term roadmaps from tech managers to team members and product owners
  • Think creatively and propose solutions to delight our clients and grow our business

Qualifications: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • BS in Computer Science, MIS, or Computer Engineering 
  • 6+ years’ experience in Web Application Development
  • Extensive knowledge of Java, AWS, SQL, XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, HTML5
  • Experience with Linux, GitLab, Atlassian Suite, and the Agile Development methodology is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to lead up to 4-6 direct reports, provide mentorship, coaching and hands on (coding) leadership.
  • Ability to grow strong, self-directed Engineers.
  • Highly motivated, Innovative, self-directed thinker with an eagerness to stay up-to-date with current trends and a desire to impress.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Any experience with development in the following areas is helpful: 
  • AWS and AWS Containerized Applications
  • Splunk or similar telemetry monitoring (CloudWatch, Nagios, etc.)
  • UI/UX development
  • Bootstrap, JQuery, or React/React Native
  • Developing and integrating with RESTful APIs

The pay range for this position is 100K to 170K per year (pay to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data).  

This role is eligible to participate in the annual bonus incentive plan.
