QA Engineer - Backend

We are looking for a dedicated QA Engineer to join our Backend team at bunny.net - The Content Delivery platform that truly Hops! . You will play a critical role in ensuring that our cutting-edge streaming and edge scripting services meet the highest standards of quality and performance. Your role will involve defining, implementing, and maintaining rigorous testing processes, enabling us to deliver seamless and reliable services to our global customer base. What will you do?

• Design and Implement Test Plans: Develop and execute detailed test plans that cover all aspects of our Stream and Edge Scripting services, ensuring high-quality, reliable releases.

• Automation Framework Development: Build and maintain automation testing frameworks specifically tailored for streaming and edge scripting environments, integrating them into the SDLC.

• End-to-End Testing: Perform end-to-end testing of streaming workflows, media subsystems (encoding, storage, ingestion, and delivery), and edge scripts to ensure they function flawlessly under various scenarios and loads.

• API and Scripting Validation: Validate APIs and edge scripts, ensuring they perform correctly and securely across different edge locations.

• AI Component Integration Testing: Test the integration and optimization of AI components within the streaming and edge scripting services.

• Continuous Integration: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring that new code deployments do not introduce regressions or performance issues.

• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers to identify potential risks and create comprehensive test strategies.

• Defect Management: Identify, document, and manage defects, ensuring they are resolved before they impact end users.

• Performance Testing: Conduct performance testing of streaming services and edge scripts, ensuring they can handle high traffic volumes and deliver low-latency experiences.
  

What will you add?

• QA Experience: 3+ years of experience as a QA Engineer, with a strong focus on testing streaming services, edge computing, or similar technologies.

• Automation Expertise: Proficiency in building and maintaining automation test suites, particularly in environments that involve streaming and edge computing.
• Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages such as TypeScript, Python, C#, or related, to create and manage automated tests.

• API Testing Proficiency: Extensive experience in API testing using frameworks such as RestAssured, Playwright, and Soap UI.

• Media Streaming Knowledge: Experience testing media streaming technologies such as HLS and DASH, as well as understanding video encoding processes and optimizations.

• Serverless Knowledge: Experience testing serverless systems, ensuring they execute correctly across distributed edge locations.

• CI/CD Integration: Experience integrating testing processes into CI/CD pipelines, facilitating continuous deployment and rapid iteration.

• Scripting and Coding: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) to create and manage automated tests.

• Agile Environment Experience: Familiarity with Agile methodologies, with experience contributing to fast-paced, iterative development cycles.

• Performance Testing Proficiency: Experience with performance testing tools and techniques, ensuring that streaming services and edge scripts maintain optimal performance under load.
