Software Engineer (React & Node.js)

The Brightcove platform is capturing the growth in online media streaming services and is looking for engineers to help make the product rock solid. The team is building a rich user experience across multiple devices including smart TVs, mobile, web and Roku.  We have a modern development process that allows our team to rapidly adjust and release new features to our customers. Job Responsibilities 

• Work in an agile environment with a team of engineers to create products and services, and enhance existing solutions and workflows.
• Develop clean, high-quality code and automated tests to verify its operation.
• Deploy solutions independently and provide technical recommendations to the team.
• Organize and collaborate across teams in Brightcove to scope and deliver new functionality.
• Provide operational support for Brightcove applications.
• Adopt a team player approach by doing what needs to be done, cheering each other on, and celebrating success.

Qualifications/Experience 

• 2+ years of front-end software engineering.
• 1+ years of experience working with React.
• 1+ years of experience working with NodeJS, Express.
• 1+ years developing containerized, self-scaling backend infrastructure.
• Experience with REST and API design.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Positive attitude with an open mind to learning new ways of working and collaborating - team player with determination and innovative thinking.
• Demonstrable experience developing, deploying and supporting scalable back-end services.
• Experience delivering and supporting high scale SaaS.
• Knowledge in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering best practices.
• Familiar with continuous integration and deployment infrastructure for web apps is a plus.
