The Role

We're looking for a senior, hands-on software architect with a strong background in application security and cloud architecture to lead the design of Bridgewise's cloud-native products and make sure they are secure by design. Our AI runs inside banks, brokers and trading platforms, so security is part of what our customers rely on. The role focuses on how our products are built and run in the cloud, meaning services, APIs, data flows and integrations. It is not an infrastructure or DevOps position. You'll report to the Chief Architect and work closely with Engineering, DevOps, Data Science, Product and our enterprise customers.

Requirements

• 8+ years in software development, including several years as a software or solution architect
• Proven experience designing highly distributed microservices architectures for high-scale, low-latency systems
• Experience designing cloud-native applications on a public cloud, ideally AWS
• Hands-on experience with containers and Kubernetes
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Couchbase, MongoDB)
• Experience with event streaming platforms such as Kafka
• Strong application and API security experience (OWASP, threat modeling, secure SDLC)
• Hands-on experience with SSO, SAML, OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect
• Clear communication with engineers, management and customers

Nice to have

• Experience securing AI-assisted development or LLM-based products
• Background in fintech or another regulated industry
• Familiarity with SOC 2 and ISO 27001
• AWS certification (e.g., Solutions Architect)
• A degree in Computer Science or a related field

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture of selected products and platform components, making sure they are secure, scalable and performant by design
• Shape our cloud architecture on AWS together with the Chief Architect, with a focus on scalability, resilience and cost-efficiency
• Lead application security across all engineering teams, including threat modeling, secure code review, security testing and vulnerability management
• Design identity and access for our multi-tenant platform (SSO, SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, role-based permissions), including integrations with enterprise customers
• Set the security guardrails for AI-assisted development and for our AI and agent-based products
• Support customer security reviews, questionnaires and audits (SOC 2, ISO 27001)

Nice To Have

• Experience securing AI-assisted development, AI coding tools or LLM-based products
• Familiarity with OWASP, NIST, SOC 2 and ISO 27001
• Experience in fintech or another regulated industry
• Experience with cloud cost optimization
• A degree in Computer Science, Information Security or a related field, or equivalent experience
