Job Summary
The QA Engineer II plays a key role in ensuring software quality by developing and executing automation test scripts using JavaScript and the Cypress framework across various applications, including web-based platforms, web services, and databases. This role involves enhancing and extending the existing automation framework, analyzing and reporting test results, and identifying and managing defects throughout their lifecycle. The QA Engineer II provides updates on test execution and defect metrics to project teams, contributing to the overall progress and quality objectives. This individual also brings leadership and collaboration to achieve team and company goals, adhering to and improving processes and standards. Additional responsibilities include defining and maintaining test data to support testing needs.
Essential Job Functions
Test Strategy Planning: Utilizes analytical skills, responsible for the creation of test strategies, test plans and test scripts based on the business and functional requirements for the project and the review of these documents with systems analysts, developers, and/or vendors. Responsible for the creation of a first events validation plan which includes production validation, backout mitigation plan, and post-install support. Act as liaison to developers, vendors, and other areas of the business to ensure project requirements are satisfied. Will work in using Agile Methodology, Waterfall Methodology, or some hybrid form of the methodology.
Test Execution and Reporting: Demonstrates an aptitude for detail and accuracy and technical knowledge, executes test scripts and reports defects using JIRA. Utilizes knowledge of database structure, creates and executes SQL queries to identify test accounts and verify application behavior is working as expected. May update configuration settings. Utilizes problem solving and communication skills to work with development teams and/or vendors to resolve and retest identified defects. Report on testing progress to testing lead or project manager. Executes first events validation and provides knowledge transfer documentation to the production support team. Updates project reporting documentation and attends team meetings. Utilizes defect management and organization skills, provide progress and metrics on test execution and defects to project team. Applies knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams to execute daily work.
Business Communications: Demonstrates foundational knowledge of credit card operations, banking, financial, loyalty rewards, and credit card regulatory while working with various areas of the business. Demonstrates leadership by driving the testing of projects and collaborates with stakeholders in understanding the testing needs and reporting on testing results.

Normal office environment.
This position is hybrid with an onsite schedule of 3-4 days per month. In-office requirements are subject to change based on business needs. This position is currently available to candidates that reside within 60 miles of Columbus, OH; Chadds Ford, PA; Plano, TX; Draper, UT; Wilmington, DE or New York, NY.

High School Diploma or GED
5 or more years of relevant work experience
Preferred Experience
Bachelor’s Degree(BE/BTech) Area of Study: Computer Science/Information Technology or Equal Technical Degree
Certifications: International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB), Certified Agile Tester (CAT), Certified Software Test Professional (CSTP), and/or Chartered Market Technician (CMT)
Type / focus of work experience preferred: Banking/Financial Services/Insurance Domain functional testing experience

Salary Range (unless otherwise noted below):
$87,900.00 - $159,200.00Full Salary Range for position:
California: $101,000.00 - $198,900.00Colorado: $87,900.00 - $167,100.00New York: $96,600.00 - $198,900.00Washington: $92,200.00 - $183,000.00Maryland: $92,200.00 - $175,100.00Washington DC: $101,000.00 - $183,000.00Illinois: $87,900.00 - $175,100.00The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.
Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period). Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial’s 401(k) plan.
All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates (except those located in Illinois) receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time (“PSST”) upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois associates receive 40 hours of Illinois PSST upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year and 40 hours of Illinois Paid Leave upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois Paid Leave must be used before associates in Illinois will be approved to take FTO.
Hired associates will be able to elect the purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
